A lot of people hate her being part of the band, but I don't get it. I think she adds a lot. For something with all of the singers that has a really fun video, there is "We Are the Truth." Great for fans of Evil Dead

Thanks for the reaction. I love Mushroomhead. You are right that the best instruments in the song is the vocals, and that is actually true for most songs in their catalogue. Another good song is Solitaire Unraveling

The lyrical content, discusses the fact that we sacrifice our youth in the name of war and world dominance, which has been happening for hundreds of years. The baby in the beginning representation of the youth, in which the baby is put into a bomb shell puts the story together as well as the "Hide your daughters and your first born son." The first male vocals discusses several Gods being disappointed by the way that man has treated earth. The bridge starts out with foster the future, nurture the land, while the center 2 lines discusses the way we abuse the land, with the final line states "its time to stand for something, walking hand in hand"

Wow, I didn't even know these guys were still around. Haven't listened to them since like the early 00s. Much like I said yesterday with metalcore, I got burnt out on nu-metal/industrial many years ago and this didn't do much to re-spark my interest.

Love MRH, I consider them the underdogs of rock and metal. Mostly because music critics like to shit on them. I don't know why people expect more from them. They are great musicians and they are great at what they do. Being a solid rock group.

The band has had some serious shifts in lineup, most of the musicians have come and left, and the keyboardist has become like the main music writer. They started out with 2 male vocalists, one who did clean vocals, one who did rapping cleans and distorted vocals. Then the second guy left and was replaced, then he came back and they had 3 vocalists, then the third guy to come in left, and then the original clean vocalist left, and now they've got someone else and this lady. Anyway, a lot of their older stuff is far more dynamic and interesting, both lyrically and musically. Originally, they were pretty heavy, but had a lot of elements of electro, industrial, art rock, hip hop, experimental... Anyway, for MUCH better songs (for how they used to sound), check out Never Let It Go, The Wrist, Solitaire Unraveling, Bwomp, These Filthy Hands, Save Us and Embrace the Ending. The last one is two songs that have the same theme split up on the album, whatever you call that.

That explains a lot. I had this idea of them as a super heavy band that I didn't think I would be into and this was not that at all. But it sounds like my idea of the band might have been true with an older lineup.

Mushroomhead is awesome... this is probably their softest song. I suggest you take a look at some of their songs like QWERTY or We are the Truth.

Agree with some below. "BWOMP" is definitely not my favorite, however it is one of their earlier and more original songs. Not thinking necessarily that you would love it, however I think you would find it unique to say the least.

This album is probably one of favorites, because it's really melodic. Also they have three vocalist, J Mann (growl), Jackie and Steve are new members. Honestly the non video songs like The Flood, Where The End Begins, Pulse to name a few are great. Video wise check out A Requiem For Tomorrow.

I agree with Casey P, QWERTY is not one of their best songs. Their older stuff is a lot more dynamic, like Bwomp, Kill Tomorrow, Sun Doesn't Rise, Solitaire Unraveling, are a lot more interesting and go in different places.

people hating on the new album and qwerty, funnily enough qwerty is what got me in to this band. i also really like this song, but regardless of what i think of my music taste, i guess that makes it very mainstream to a lot of folks. mainstream of course being one of the worst insults you could throw at a band/song. metalheads seem to get REAL salty, tho i suppose that's with any large fandom. isn't it? speaking as someone who pretty much listens ONLY to metal/subgenres. just kinda weird. just my thoughts. *shrug*

So i voted for Mushroomhead on patreon because i wanted to see how they grown. Not so much. I seen them live at Ozfest in the early 2000's, on the big stage, and there was so much feed back anytime any of them moved more than a few feet. It was just a lack of energy, just like this song.

I know I'm 5 months late but I think this album is meant to be VERY different from their other stuff. Considering the lyrical content in these songs I think it is meant to be dark, heavy(lyrical contect), and lethargic. I honestly it is meant to represent the atmosphere of the USA (4 exhausting years of devisiveness) hence the tension and the idea of a still present danger. Just my two cents that this is an INTENTIONAL choice, and not indicative of what the band will be capable of in the future.

Mushroomhead has a long history. I enjoy most of it, this new album is pretty garbage in my opinion. It's just not Mushroomhead without Jeffery Nothing

This is not what i expected from Mh, at least not entirely. The groups chosen single was basic and boring af, and seriously disappointing. The vocals are fine and actually exactly as i expected, perfectly dry. What’s really important to me is the music. I really would like to know who wrote the instrumental sections. This is where the problem resides and I don’t expect that to change. As I was searching through my pile of Mushroomhead cd’s I could not fined a more disappointing example than this. An attempt at older Mushroomhead tracks as suggested by some other commenters here would be the equivalent to rinsing out your mouth with electric piss water. Take my advice, use soap and try a higher caliber of metal. Is there a better track on this album? Does anybody know?

Great reaction song. And definitely not one of their better songs. Too mainstream and commercial compared to most Mushroomhead songs. Not nearly as unique and original IMO. But hey you gotta start somewhere. Appreciate your unbiased opinion.
