Was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. Such an interesting mix of metal genres. I guess I'd call it symphonic power melodeath? The most fascinating thing is that I'm not sure which element comes through the strongest. If pressed I'd probably say the power metal one, because ultimately I think the melodic elements are more prominent than the symphonic and death elements, but just barely. I don't think any of the individual elements are super original, but they're all executed really well and the mix is unique enough to keep me interested.
@CriticalReactions3 жыл бұрын
The delicate mix is certainly what elevates this track a bit.
@arielfernandez81963 жыл бұрын
This track has a very very delicate balance between the elements, but some tracks have very strong leanings to one side or the other, Yomi Yori Kikoyu is very symphonic-y, fushoku ressentiment is very death-y (to me at least), etc.
@quyphuongtay2 жыл бұрын
i think the main is death metal, but the impressive sub-genre were power metal chorus, especially female back vocal
@arielfernandez81962 жыл бұрын
@@quyphuongtay really depends on the song, their new album has a lot of very black metal-ly songs, and so did the yomi yori ep for that matter

Late, but all the male vocals in this song are done by the same guy, clean, harsh, narration You are spot on regarding the 3 vocalist thing though, one male, 2 female (one of them is a guest), one female is the lead female vocals while the other is just narration (she has a more prominent role in the rest of the album For the band members, there are only 4 people+1 guest in this album: Rib:y(uhki): male vocals (handles all the screams, harsh, clean, narration), rhythm guitar Hull: bass, orchestration, programming (he programmed the drums, I stated 8mo about the drums are done by a machine), keyboard, mastering Hull: lead guitars Kylie: female narrator Kimiko (guest): female narration (this track only), lead female vocals (this track, which is the 9th track and the 2nd track of the album) Do check out the song Yomi Yori Kikoyu by them from another EP, it's still the same line up, but the female vocals take a more centric role in the song

Their songs are definitely kind of a mess just like their name but I absolutely love them for that. Their albums are kind of a journey of very different ideas but at no point do they not sound like themselves.

I always understood their name as an Imperial circus named dead decadence, seemed to be the most sense i could make of it atleast... They are also japanese, so it might also be a name translated from japanese, which sounds a bit weird in english

In Japanese it’s pronounced imperiaru saakasu desudo dekadansu, so not really. I like the title tho and they just refer to it as icdd while playing live.

Thank you for actually letting a song play through, without interruption, then going into detailed analysis. I came into the JP metal scene in 2005, since then the genre has matured significantly, but it is still mostly underground with little main stream support. There are bands who try to blindly copy western metal (not commercially successful) and then there are bands like this that are trying to find a balance in-between. Thus a "back and forth" battle occurs as the band tries to find the country's take on the style. My two Yen anyway.

Wow. Finally an honest reaction video. I am really impressed. To the band: I've seen them live. As a professional singer I was anticipating a decent vocal performance, since the studio versions didn't seem to be autotuned that much. Well... It was by far the worst thing I've ever listened to. Both singers were out of sync, out of tune and the male vocalist fell into falsetto when he wasn't supposed to. That's my experience with ICDD
@CriticalReactions3 жыл бұрын
If honest reactions are something you value then stick around because that's what I do here. I try to always find something positive to take away but I'm absolutely not going to shy away from talking about things that just don't work for me.

Impressiv but that's it. Kind of boring in the end. Interesting ideas you have about the string or clasical elements. If you are into symphonic elements you should go back to bands like King Crimson.(Check out Epitaph the original tape or the Steven Wilson remaster. The use of melotron on this track is mindblowing. I have herd cover versions with strings but the melotron on the original is far better than any Symphony Orchestra when it comes to this song. Id like to get your thought's on that one. There is other melotron songs whith other bands like the Moody blues that later was recorded live with real strings but for me the melotron outshine the string's. Im proberbly just nostalgic but id like to have your thougth's on this. But than again you have to listen to the music. I have comed with some suggestions erlyer as well but never came tru. This is my last suggestion. King Crimson ( Epitaph) I garanti you will love it if dont allready know it.👌❤
