Porcelain Dental Veneers (or teeth veneers) or Composite Dental Veneers, which are better and why?
Many people are looking for a great looking smile, and a lot of celebrities have Porcelain Dental Veneers - but are these the best?
What if you are on a bit of a budget? Are Composite Veneers better? What is the difference, and which is the better treatment?

Ive had composite veneers on my front top teeth for atleast 5 years, just this year started to discolour & stain bad. I got them replaced with new composite veneers all 6x for less than $1K w dental insurance. And it took 2 hours and i was out of the dentist. I am also a smoker so 5 years is pretty good. As for maintaining them - use a soft brush and sensodyne as toothpaste because its non abrasive. Dont use whitening toothpaste. And floss with water not with strings. Dont eat hard foods and dont use them to bite off food. They will last longer.

I'm having composites on Thursday, 6 front top teeth. I'm pretty excited. I think it's a good first step for me, and I will try to take care of them well. With how cheap they are for me, I know I'll be able to afford to have the odd problem fixed over time, or indeed, have them all redone completely if necessary. If I suddenly find myself in a more financially secure situation, I can then go on and think about porcelain. For now, composite is all I can have, so wish me luck on Thursday :D

Oh, question... are there any types of toothpaste you WOULD recommend to prolong the appearance? I've had gum disease and I've been using Corsodyl toothpaste, but I'd rather move to one that helps keep the composites white with minimal abrasion?

I’m having this done now after Invisalign. I’m considering composite on the bottom front teeth which don’t show very much and porcelain on the top front strictly for cost savings. Still working that out so I appreciate this information.

Which one would you recommend for some gum recession over a perfectly good tooth in order to protect the area from more recession? The composite or porcelain? Direct or indirect? Thank you 🙏🏻

Composite are direct, as they are done in one sitting, indirect are made at a lab, then cemented in( porcelain veneers)

I watched my dentist to fix my insides are next to the front I choose just to you know when you over brush and it was basically a little shorter than the front porch so that was made for me and the dentist didn’t do anything about it at the time he just did not hear me or agreed not to hear me and then when he did the truth he did a half assed job absolutely not satisfied. Composite used.. She did she does have a habit of not listening to what I want and the problem is he is my first cousin that shouldn’t be an issue but I’ve got a discount but that shouldn’t make it any better or worse you got a listen man sorry been a little casual there

Your prices are so expensive £450 for 1 composite. Its a shame you only do work for the rich. It would be a blessing for normal ppl to be able to receive your services.

I'm having composites on Thursday at £90 / tooth, just a light covering of front top teeth. We live in a small South Yorkshire mining community, and the dentist is great, but they have to charge according to what their customers can afford, so in that respect, we are quite lucky. I imagine (having worked in the field of medical products for many years) that there is a wide variety of composite products out there, and I imagine there are some price differentials - I'm under no illusion that I'm getting the cheapest of the cheap, and I'm ok with that :D

Im confused at the end where you say porcelain veneers are usually done by experts who know what they’re doing and you have a high attention to detail, and in the same breath you move on to say that anyone can do porcelain veneers and can screw them up. Can you please clarify what you mean?
