breaking down the hunger artist is ridiculous...It is a long and beautiful joke...SPOLIER ALERT the punch line (so to speak) and also climax or release, is when he says he couldn't find anything he likes to eat well enough.....the denouement is also of course obvious. But deconstructing it is totally useless and counter productive. Read it ....Listen to it......enjoy it. It is a beautiful and funny and uniquely illuminating story in way that the best art and literature often is and exactly in the way Kafka says it should be. More of a wedge with a little hanmer going tink tink tink until the ice splits rather than an axe but nevertheless......Don t ruin it by deconstructing it!

There is no simple "punch line" in Kafkas stories, that's just a shallow american interpretation. His stories are multifacetted and the point is that you can't just get an answer so easily. But one thing is right: The way this idiot tries to "deconstruct" Kafka('s stories) is ridiculous. "Deconstructing" things should have been outdated for people even in the 80's.

@@candide1065 There is a punch line in the hunger artist. A punch line is not an easy answer it's a point of release for a joke. But I'm guessing you didn't read what I wrote and probably haven't even read the hunger artist
