Hi just subscribed - great channel and content. Question for you. How much sun vs shade are your earth machine composter getting every day. Mine seems to be getting max 3 hrs sun per day, so I’m thinking it’s not getting a chance to heat up. And I’m noticing ants - what do you think?

Thank you! Sun is not really that important for the earth machines and mine are in 75% shade or more. Heating up is very dependent on the ingredients and not on the sun. As for the ants they are generally not that big of a deal. You probably have a lot of carbons in there. If you get the formula right it will heat up and the ants will unlikely be interested.

Can you share where to get your composters, I can find them but they want 229$ a piece for them?

Yes I get them from the county for $35 each. I don't know which counties do and don't but I've heard other people tell me that they've tried this and it's worked for them. At $229 that's ridiculous better to buy a gigantic garbage can cut out the bottom or just put holes in it.
