Types of Compounds and Polishing Pads:
There are majorly three types of compounds in the industry. Heavy cutting, Medium cutting and, finishing.
Pads are also a similar combination along with the compound.
So in this video, we will give you guidance about good compounds and pads.
In every compound bottle, there is a detail available on the bottle regarding the compound Cut level and Gloss level. Majorly every brand mentioned these details on the compound products.
Let's start with the heavy-cutting compound: i.e: We are having a bottle of the heavy-cutting compound in the running video. There is a detail mentioned on the bottle that it is heavy cutting compound. you can see in the video that there is mentioned Gloss and Cut level on the bottle. Out of 10 companies mentioned gloss and cutting level on the product.
The same detail also shares on any compound bottle whether that is medium cutting or finishing.
If the cut level is 8 points and the Gloss level is up to 3, that signifies that is a heavy-cutting product.
With a heavy-cutting compound, you can use a wool pad or heavy-cutting foam pad.
In the medium-cutting compound, the cut and gloss levels will be almost similar. Just 1 point might be different.
In the finishing compound, there will be nearly about 2 level cut and the gloss level will be 9 or 10.
Falls compounds are full of fillers and that doesn't provide you with actual cutting. If the actual cutting is not done then in 1 wash all the fillers will go away and swirls and paint defects will be visible so easily. Majorly many people are making the same mistake of buying chipper compounds which doesn't gives actual results of the paint correction process.
