Awesome. Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge. I'm new at this & I drowned my seedlings last year. 😢 Watered them every day, & that was not by misting them. So the info of misting every other day was huge for me. God bless you & yours. 1. Is there a particular reason you use bottomless containers? Seems to me the mix will just fall straight through. I saw where you saved the fall thru mix in container under tabletop. 2. Do you always mist from the top until seedling planted in the garden, or do you put seedlings in a closed tray & water from the bottom for maybe 30 minutes - 1 hour, then remove to drain? 3. Do you transplant the seedlings into the next size larger 3-inch pots before they are transplanted into the garden? Thank you again, and God bless

Thanks for watching! And you have some great questions! 1. The reason I use bottomless trays is because of the type of tray I’m using. My seed starting trays are self pruning and for them to work properly they shouldn’t be used with a bottom tray. They won’t “self prune” the roots if I use a bottom tray. Or at least not as well. And yes, I put a container under my table to catch the excess seed starting mix. I can and sometimes do put a bottom tray under the seed starting tray while I’m filling it, then I remove the bottom tray as soon as I’m done planting the seeds. 2. No I don’t always mist until transplanting. Once the seedlings are up and hardy enough to handle regular spraying. The key is to not always saturate the seedlings. And if I accidentally saturate them, I don’t water again until they dry out a little. One test I do is to lift the tray to see how much it weighs. If it feels light it’s time to water. 3. I do my best to time things up so that I can transplant straight from the tray into the ground. The only time I up pot is if the environmental conditions are conducive to moving the seedlings outside. Thanks again for watching and I hope I answered your questions.

Just found your channel and love it. When did you start your fall seeds? Where did you buy the pro mix seed starting from?

@@billyangelapressley Thank you! 🙏🏽 I started these on Sept 9th and I’m about to transplant them (except the onions) this week. I also still need to plant my garlic and carrots.
