Hi professor Farhat! I was able to solve this question using a method I learned while at uni and in practice. In practice I have seen cash flow statements prepared using a workpaper that computes the changes in the comparative trial balances, allows for eliminating the non-cash transactions, and allocates the cash movements to whichever specific line item it belongs to. I'm happy to share an excel spreadsheet that shows this same problem you've posted here solved using the method I've described above. This method might be more suited towards advanced learners or those who are already in practice, however I think it would be great to share this with everyone as it's very efficient and produces accurate results. Let me know via dm if you are interested! Thanks, NN

Hi NN, thank for you comment. I am familiar with your excel sheet method. I used it when I was in practice. Yes, it is designed more for advanced users. Anyhow, send to me. I might illustrate the concept. Mansour.farhat@gmail.com

@@luvpinas123 Hey there! The trial balance method is actually used in the CPA exam I think. Can you also DM me the excel sheet with the solved problem so I can study it. Thanks!

Hello sir I believe your operating figures is incorrect, I maybe wrong.

maybe your confusion is short term notes payable that is included in financing activities rather than operating activities. hope that makes sense.
