Friday Night Funkin' (stylized as FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' and often abbreviated to FNF) is an open-source donationware rhythm game first released in 2020 for a game jam. The game was developed by a team of four Newgrounds users, Cameron "ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s.
The game mainly revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of characters in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay revolves around hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song.
The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam in October 2020. A full version backed on Kickstarter titled Friday Night Funkin': The Full Ass Game is under development.
Among Us is a 2018 online multiplayer social deduction game developed and published by American game studio Innersloth. The game was inspired by the party game Mafia and the science fiction horror film The Thing. The game allows for cross-platform play, first released on iOS and Android devices in June 2018 and on Windows later that year in November. The game was then ported to the Nintendo Switch in December 2020 and on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in December 2021. While the game was initially released in 2018 to little mainstream attention, it received a massive influx of popularity in 2020 due to many well-known Twitch streamers and KZbinrs playing it. A virtual reality adaptation, Among Us VR, was released in November 2022.
Among Us takes place in space-themed settings where players are colorful armless cartoon astronauts. Each player takes on one of two roles: most are Crewmates, but a small number play Impostors. Crewmates work to complete assigned tasks in the game while identifying and voting out suspected Impostors (which appear identical to Crewmates) by means of social deduction, while Impostors have the objective of killing the Crewmates.
Among Us experienced a significant surge in playership in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic due to popularization by KZbin and Twitch content creators, and received favorable reviews from critics on account of its fun and entertaining gameplay. The game and its stylized characters have also been the subject of various internet memes.

i keep seeing people discussing/arguing about one or the other being better. both are good in their own way. identity crisis is more fitting to monotone and sets the vibe for a crazy final encounter very well, but this song plays into the shapeshifting much better than the new identity crisis does. i also like how the voices are built into the singing instead of just being isolated in quiet parts of the song. in the end, both are really good.

that has me thinking something. What if Monotone in this song was originally going to be a shapeshifter, And Monotone in Identity crisis is a *Illusionist*? I mean it makes sense because the background was changing and stuff and from boyfriend's perspective we see the defeat screen, Mira HQ, and the reactor melting down.

Bro, everyone out here saying "I like this more" or "Identity Crisis is better" It's like comparing apples to oranges lol, they both have their time and place if you ask me. This works better as Monotone's character theme, while Identity Crisis is more fitting for that fateful encounter. That said, I am glad this got scrapped because Identity Crisis likely wouldn't exist if it hadn't. P.S. Am I the only one who thought the Plague Doctor Impostor leaks were fake because there couldn't be two Black Impostors? Boy, was I shocked at the beginning of Identity Crisis lol, I knew right off the bat that Boyfriend was dealing with a Shapeshifter just because there was another Boyfriend standing across from him, but then Monotone revealed his true form and my mind was BLOWN.

I had been theorizing things about the mod for a long time, that if pink would be like green, that if gray would be a murderous crew member, among those things, I came to think that this monotone design would be Black himself but infected or something similar (black plague, parasite, it is understood right?)
