As someone who teaches secondary math and programming, I often feel at an advantage over other math teachers without the computer science background. Math and computer science are intertwined with one another and I can relate topics together well, especially algorithms. For example, in my coding elective, I explain to students that solving a system of equations is an algorithm, because there are certain steps that you have to take to solve for x and y. That entire process to get the solution is an algorithm.
