Let me tell you a short story, my uncle at 26 married from another tribe, her mum - my shosho - never accepted her, her kids, her family anything about her. 20+years later she died not having met or been in the same room with her grandkids. My uncle, stood his ground, knowing how hard it was for him, this drained him. in family events, if shes there my shosho is not there and vice versa. I was in the same predicament as Kim in that my wife was a meru and the mother never wanted her to be married by another tribe. We soldiered on but the pressure made us to bow down coz my wife ata alitafutiwa bwana mmeru from her tribe and that was our end. My mum really went through a lot due to her mother in law.......even aftr we were born shits were dragged to us our grandma really talking evil strong words on us.....calling us witches and wizards.....mum was a very humble lady to her mum in law and also religious upright she could only go down on her knees and cry.....being the eldest i really had a hard time emotionally......we had to vacate from home to look for peace this step of life really messed our lifes up since 2010 till now.....we are just trying to collect our tattered clothes and mend them...this also made me in my marriage life difficult since i couldn't even mingle with my mother inlaw due to fears despite aving a friendly mother in law
