Reminds me of the band Rush (Conan is a fan of them btw). Not really truly widespread recognized until around 2010...30+ years after they started. Sure Rush had popular periods (early 80s and early 90s), and were always held in high esteem by some (other musicians and dedicated fan base), but it wasn't until after "I Love You Man" came out that they became more of a household name.

When this originally aired in 1997 the song playing was "Ice Cream Man" by Van Halen. It fit the piece better, but I guess for legal reasons they overdubbed it in this youtube version with a song they still have the rights to.

When I was a kid, my friend and I saved our allowances for a month, then bought 30 dollars worth of ice cream from the ice cream truck. We ate about 2 things a piece, then left the bag of products on his Moms leather couch. We went outside to play, and came back to melted, leaked ice cream. His Mom yelled at us and he was grounded for 2 weeks. 😂 Good times.

I have a story similar to that. My brother and I were in city league baseball as kids and sold boxes of chocolates to raise money for the league. Well, we decided to eat the juice morsels instead of sell them. A whole case. Boy was that a stupid idea. After our parents paid for them we were grounded for a month. Good times
