I'd reached all the lore pieces and was having a heck of a time putting a timeline together. This was amazing and just what I needed. Seriously, you deserve more likes/credit for this video. Hopefully now that Funcom has put a lot more work into Siptah you'll get more traffic. Thank you!

@@pursxxxmasmurf5751 I'm not 100% sure on when the player's role in Siptah is. I personally haven't found any reference that dates the players roles on Siptah vs Exiled lands. However, the events revealed in Siptah from all the different races is what leads to a lot of the events that we experience in the Exiled Lands so the best way I can think to answer is that the History/Lore of Siptah starts before the Exiled lands.

Nicely done. Not to take anything away from the giants or their kings, do you think the messenger was a giant? Theory: the messenger that sends whispers (and suggestions) from the dark is the same messenger that whispers to Siptah once he arrives on the island... Not a giant necessarily but perhaps Yog? Or at least something closer to the demonic? Just a thought. :) Thank you for making and posting this!

just brought the dlc, started off good with the choice of shipwreck but found the map alittle lacking in steps to unlock the story unlike the previous map which has zones almost designed around levels.

At a certain point i felt bad for the elder races but then they go and enslave the humans again xD When they won they should have tried to talk to the humans and then they would still be alive instead of being a weak shadow of their former selves. I do hope we can help the eler races become themselves again or help their offspring to be like how they were without the human enslavement offcourse.

Joel messed up his timeline completely. When you read "The Gem in the Tower" by de Camp, which the DLC is based on, Conan battles a bat demon and finds that seated in the tower is occupied by a Sipta that has sat lifeless on his throne in the tower for hundreds of years. If the DLC and the exiles are both in the same timeline, that puts Conan and Sipta very much alive together, which was never the case.

i see no reason to think he is alive in the expansion. i do however think there is a possibility of the story in conan exiles deviating a little from original conan

@@SvenP you had mentioned that Sipta took up residence only a couple of years before the events currently, based on the lore found. Or did I misunderstand that part? If he did though, that puts him very much alive and well as conan is in the exile lands, now confirmed to be part of Lemuria (since the giants sent the sandstorm to clear them out it seems)- maybe an unknown/ unsunken portion of it. Either way, the timeline would make him a bit young at that point in his life. He had his story on Siptah long before he went east, past Turan. In the story, Siptah has long since died and is no longer controlling the storm (in the story, it was rummered he was- until Conan found him dead. So basically, the timeline is all messed up- UNLESS Siptah's corpse is in the tower. Joel is a good story teller, sometimes. But he does leave issues like this on the table often enough.

Siptah was originally just scribe from Stygian group that've built New Luxur - Siptah's journal tells about it. Then he somehow mastered tower's magic, recreated shining trapezohedron, restarted maelstorm and took over the island. But New Luxur is ancient ruins at game's present. So I don't see any contradictions.

To say the least, it seems like the devs are just spitting in the face of the lore in the conanverse since many of these concepts and ideas brought up in this DLC aren't lore-friendly at all, like there's SOOOOO many plotholes and inconsistencies here that just don't work.

What is considered canon in Conan? And who decides that?

@@SvenP Not sure why this even needs to be clarified, but canon would be the stuff written by Robert E. Howard. Maybe you could also consider stuff written by other authors with permission of the copyright holders to be canon, but I imagine many fans would disagree. At the end of the day it's fine to enjoy the game's story and I do myself, but I wouldn't consider it canon to the original franchise.

@@zeriel9148 I don't remember what I was thinking when I made the comment earlier. Think it makes more sense what you are saying with original work (which i havent read) is cannon. However, as far as I understand, the original works has lovecraft lore in it. And Conan Exiles is "Conan Exiles" rather than "Conan". So you could argue Conan isnt cannon in lovecraft, and conan exiles isnt cannon in conan. This makes everything extremely confusing.
