I’m a Fire Life Safety Director at my job, and he’s required to make that announcement. I’m sure (knowing they were taping) he didn’t wanna do it but he had to. He was a good sport about going through the sketch too.

I am a fire safety director. The guy didn't trigger that alone. His job is to silence to alarm as soon as possible and make an announcement to notify the building on what transpired and where further instructions need to be taken or not.

Look at the body language. The fire safety guy, Bruce, is leaning away from Conan at the beginning of the segment. His hands are folded, but his arms are not crossed, so he has not closed himself off but is suffering from stage fright. Then, once they are at the panel, the ice has broken and Bruce has become expansive. Being at the module helped, what with him leaning his arm on it and feeling at home. At the end, when he is on the show he is beaming. Conan has a natural gift for making people feel comfortable and at ease. He also has a gift for taking the conversation to no man's land and having his guests thrilled for the trip. This remote, among others, show why Conan Without Borders was going to be such a smash hit

Dear Team Coco team, I don't know if you read the comments or take request, but I remember a remote where Conan hijacks some kind of tour at universal or something, driving around in a train like car, where at one point he drives said car in a circle, and when the remote ends the audience in the studio start chanting "circle, circle" it's very funny and I'd like to see it again. Much respect for my fellow Fire Safety Director for conducting himself in a professional manner. As for O'Brien, I get it you're a comedian but some things in life you have to take seriously. Those type of announcements were the same made on 9-11 in the World Trade Center. Fire Safety Directors guided thousands to safety that day and were in the building alongside FDNY, PD and EMS when the buildings came down. Once again, respect for my fellow Fire Safety Directors and our fellow first responders.
