Something I noticed listening to the podcast: Tom Hanks is one of those people who gets to know a lot of people in the room. Conan noted that he hung out with the writers at SNL when he could've been schmoozing with Lorne Michaels. At the end of the podcast, he's thanking A LOT of people from Conan's team by name.

Gosh, these interviews Conan is doing during COVID19 are probably the best he has ever done. Conan is the KING! He has such a genuine rapport with his guests. You just feel like you are there sitting in his living room. And, Sona cracking up during the interview...priceless!!!

Sona always compliments Conan in a funny way. Don't forget, she's been with him in tough times too. Conan didn't have an office in at around 2010, and their team used to talk/discuss in coffee shops. How great the friends they're!
@osoemparado39584 жыл бұрын
Sorry to be so lengthy.. What I mean to say is that she's been with him in difficult times and she has every right to make fun of him with pure love. Meanwhile, Tom Hanks voice is so nostalgic ❤️

That era of SNL, from maybe 1987 to 1991, was my favorite. And I don't care how good the performers are (and they had a fantastic cast), without those writers the show wouldn't have been anywhere near as good. It's just like music - great musicians are nothing without great songs to play. The writing in that era was as good as it ever was on that show.

Please do more video of the podcast. Especially full episodes, a la Joe Rogan style. You would be surprised how many of us enjoy playing a full episode and listen and occasionally watch while we work. The small segments are nice, but put the whole thing out there. I love Tom Hanks. Never a bad movie with Tom Hanks. He is like the vanilla paste of actors but not an off brand. He is like premium vanilla from Haagen-dazs. Rich, smooth, with an old world feel. His name is synonymous with quality. You could name drop him into any famous film in which he never starred and people would have a hard time remembering if he was actually in the movie or not.

Anyone else notice that at 3:15 Sona's microphone isn't plugged in?
@HrpbTV3 жыл бұрын
It's a USB mic that look's like has an XLR option as well. Tom in this video is actually using the blue yeti mic in a wrong way. Well, let me rephrase, it's not "wrong" per say. The blue yeti is a side address mic on the cardioid setting. He might've been on a different setting, so I'm not sure what position it was in. But, cardioid would be a much better setting as it will bring in the voice closer, more dynamic/intimate, as well as the ever present "proximity effect" if he was to speak closer into the mic. At which point might make it a little too boomy and pickup a bunch of plosives which no one wants(if that was a person that wants a squeaky clean and balanced recording, which also a lot of radio is not). It does capture more bass frequencies, and that can be a good thing. It's easier to take out than to add bass sometimes. Also if you start with a great recording and technique, sometimes you don't have to edit the audio too much afterwards. As far as I know, Matt does the editing, and he is one dang awesome producer. This video, and the others like it, sound weird because it was just the raw interview recording on the pc. And I do realize that all this doesn't really matter in the greater scheme of things, and most people don't care. So I've really been saying nothing in this short paragraph reply to a 7 month old comment. If you read this, thanks! Stay safe and Have a great day :)
