This reminds me... if you can find it, watch the movie Salomon Kane starring James Purefoy. The plot lacks at times but the visuals & Purefoy make the movie better than it should be.

Conan had taken more grevious wounds than a flintlock and walked it off. Solomon Kane never outplayed the odds like Conan. Howard was a master at his craft.

In brute strength Conan wins. In swordplay I would still bet on Conan. But Conan isn’t bullet proof.

If only Kane's pistols where worth a shit.

Flinlock pistols weren't as reliable as their modern replacements, but Kane would absolutely make them count and you even call it his "sharpshooting". So unless Conan knows enough about guns to evade his line of sight or has his own long range weapons (javelins, throwing hatchets) he only wins because Kane is going easy on him.

One shot and Conan is dead, strength means nothing against bullets, the fight is over in a second. How is this even fair?
