When we were playing the A-Team every kid in school wanted to be B.A. Barracas; even the white kids... so we had to use a rotating system in our group of friends to be fair. Born in the 70’s myself so I can definitely confirm. It’s sad that kids today don’t have the positive masculinities role models that we all did back then. I don’t think kids today understand just how important Mr T was was in the 80’s, from wrestling to TV to PSA’s to the White House to an animated series to movies he was larger than life, especially to children! I LOVE Mr.T. Used to watch The A-Team and loved it when I was elementary school age. He was the most charismatic and loved character for me. Even though he was in character, I felt his true character shined through, that's why people easily loved him. I got the confirmation when I saw an interview of his and heard him spoke. I heard this awesome gentleman (Mr T) speak at an event before, talking about his life and motivators. I got to meet with him afterwards as well and he is a great person in real life. Mr. T is awesome. His whole career was centered around being a good role model for kids because he had a kid and wanted there to be positive role models for his kids and other kids of color. So his whole entire career was basically centered around his drive to be a good dad. And as a little boy that was raised on A-Team reruns, I like to think he shaped who I became in some way, he did have a lot of awesome messages back in the 80s about respect and parents and stuff.
