warren010h hey whats up I'm an aspiring hacker/ programmer. I struggle with concentration although your channel has helped a bit. Are there any other methods you use for studying and if so can you tell us. Also what language are you most proficient with. I took a java and javascript course but it didn't really help I'm mostly self taught and I'm hoping to go back to school. I know this is a lot but do you have any advice for an aspiring it major.
@playoffl36ron89 жыл бұрын
warren010h Oh yeah how much studying would you put in on a typical day or week during a regular semester?
@warren010h9 жыл бұрын
jay'sup Howdy man! Well, not exactly. Studying for me for the past few years in college has mainly been putting a little music in my ears in a nice quiet non-distracting environment. When it came to studying and programming for me, I'd probably be sitting at a table after class from like 4 or 5pm until 1 or 2 am.. Would knock other assignments out the way quick as I could to spend as much time as I could programming; which in plenty cases only led me to debugging and managing to get 1 small piece of code functional lol. So "time" i'd say is your best asset when you're still green (I still am). Time, consistency and efficient programming/study sessions is what's going to boost your productivity. Eliminate the distractions and get in that zone. A lot of college students don't want to accept sitting down for extended hours and give up after 30 or 40 minutes. No, for me, i stayed there long as I needed; but then, I didn't have a job or much of a social life so it was easy for me lol. I'm most proficient in Java, but I'm trying not to make that the big focus; rather, I want my mind to be proficient on the underlying meat of programming and how things interact (If that makes any sense). That's one reason I've decided to focus more on the math. I think once you learn how to program, you'll be able to apply those principles across the different languages after you get accustomed to their differences in uses and syntax. If you look through the comments, you'll find guys who know worlds ahead of what I know regarding programming, but what I can tell you is, learning to program is going to take time and effort as with anything (unless it just comes naturally which unfortunately for me, wasn't the case lol). Being self taught is great. Most of what you learn won't be what you're taught in courses anyway; it'll be what you learn in the time YOU put into it. Lets see, I'd say I put in an average of 7 hours per day studying. I majored in CIS so not all those hours went towards IT related things, some towards business courses. But, during the lucky semesters, most was IT related. Overall, the best advice I can give you, although it may be a bit general, is put TIME into it. Make sacrifices where you can and go at it! I followed the saying, "work hard now, play hard later" throughout college.Though I've graduated, I find that I still have to study hard lol.

I've been coding to this since I was 11 and now I'm a computer science student at university and I still love this playlist. Thank you so much!!

Till there's still something left to learn and to do, I never left, I only listen to this playlist while programming and learning hacking theory (basically programming exploiting), thanks to this playlist I'm right now on a Kali Live distro learning how to SQL Inject (in a good way), and probably my life will be about computer science and cyber security. Yea, all thanks to a playlist

I first played this game in 2000, (System Shock track reference) late at night. It was terrifying and amazing. I replayed it about two years ago and it had not lost any of its punch. Just found this!! So awesome.

Man... when I hear that Mirror's Edge song "Kate" it triggers some SERIOUS nostalgia for me. That takes me back to a time in my life when I had just graduated high school and I remember playing that video game on my PS3 in the afternoon on a hot summer day in my bedroom. Random side note.. the graphics in that game were so spectacular. Anyways... I remember being confused at that time in my life because I had just graduated high school and I did not know exactly what to do with my life... Things were rather simple but also chaotic at that time. And that particular game had such beautiful graphics and music that I was in awe the very first time I played it. Anyways, not exactly sure what all of this means but thank you so much for this Playlist. For us guys in our 20s and 30s. This Playlist triggers much nostalgia. Especially for the Half life tracks, Portal 2 track and for that Mirror's edge track. Man....that's when video games were.... VIDEO GAMES.... Cheers to you all.

Hey man I am doing my Masters in CS right now but always had an affinity for healthcare too. How did you transition to it? Did you work in the software industry at all?
@luisrocha262 жыл бұрын
@@taekwondoman2D hey! I worked as a C++ software engineer for about 9 months in a mid sized company, but honestly didn't like it at all. I really didn't see any value on the product I was working on. I then decided to pursue the medical career as I feel it is more rewarding, though it requires learning a whole new way of working - mainly because most medical schools have extremely traditional teaching methods, which do not work for me at all. The transition was all about revisiting high school subjects for the general admission exam we have in Brazil. I love computer science, though, and still code small demos of anything I find interesting e.g. physical simulations, emulators and so on
