Hi Vishnu Sir, Thank you for sharing preparing such amazing videos. I have doubt if you can please explain. 1- why in ibgp next -hop won't change ? - We know bgp share sends the packets to next AS not to same As. Please add if I am missing anything ? 2- why we don't use Next-hop in RR ? Thank you in Advance

eBGP changes next hop because we are sending packet to next AS. In case of iBGP which has higher view of the network, it leaves the problem of how to reach to next hop to interior gateway protocols like OSPF or EIGRP. For all iBGP routers they understand, that to reach to next hop or next AS, they first need to go to the gateway to that AS. If they can't reach to the gateway there is no point to go ahead. This just the philosophy of BGP that it has higher view of the network.

We use RR inside an AS. Means iBGP peers. Hence the same explanation goes as above. We just use RR to learn routes without making them part of my datapath. But if you want to change this behaviour you can always do that with configuration commands.
