FYI Concept2 has options for extended or shorter seat posts for people who are very tall or very short (for adults), you have to contact them directly to special order. They say the tall seatpost is good for up to 41" inseam which is like NBA center level

I have a Concept 2 BikeErg that's about 3 years old. The PM-5 monitor stopped working recently. I replaced the two D-cell batteries, and it still doesn't work. Plus, the batteries became warm when the bike was not in use. Has anyone else encountered this situation? I really liked using the bike until this happened.

I would like this for HIIT training. How much resistance can this device give?
@TreadmillReviewGuru10 ай бұрын
The resistance is unlimited, the harder you pedal the more resistance you get, so it's great for HIIT training

super helpful, might be buying one soon.

Thanks for the review. I'm debating on getting either the bike erg or the stages sb20. It's a hard choice, as I will be using it with Zwift. I have the concept2 rowerg and it's amazing!

Thanks for watching! The BikeERG is a great option and fortunately you aren't tied into a subscription so it leaves you options. We haven't tested the Stages bike yet but have heard good things, but we are partial to the BikeERG because it's so low maintenance and easy to use. Let us know what you decide!

Damn thats loud
@ginabb29 Жыл бұрын
It's not silent but no louder than a treadmill motor or a household fan on high.

@@ginabb29 you think it’s ok for someone who lives in a apartment as far as the noise level??? I don’t want my neighbors to hate me… 😅 I’m in the 1st floor and I want to be considerate with my side neighbors and upper neighbor

You should be fine. The noise level is comparable to a large household fan turned on full blast high and that is at its loudest with the damper wide open and a high cadence. With the damper only partially open on a lower setting the sound is less. It is basically a somewhat loud swooshing sound--after all it is a fan. It is not silent but it will definitely not disturb neighbors. The ducts in my central air conditioning system make more noise, the motor on my treadmill makes more noise, and the old chain drive exercise bike I had made more noise. Again, not to be redundant, but it at its loudest it is a swooshing sound comparable to a large fan on full blast high. I can still hear my music over it without wearing earbuds. Hope that helps.

The saddle sucks. You’ll want to change it to one you’re comfortable with if you plan to use the bike erg regularly. The damper is PITA to adjust while pedaling, so it’s not useful for simulating road terrain. It’s absolutely not a substitute for a smart trainer. It cannot adjust resistance for hills like on Zwift. That said, I use mine on zwift and it works fine for transmitting your watts to zwift. I use a HR meter that I connect to the bike erg via ANT and then the HR shows up on zwift. I also have a C2 rower, so I’m familiar with the environment, but if you’re not already in C2 world and you’re a road cyclist, the bike erg might not be a great choice if you want to feel terrain related resistance changes. Also, it’s not quiet. Not excessively loud, but not quiet. I wouldn’t use it in a NYC apt. That’s for sure. It’s also not good for standing. Again, it’s nothing like riding a road bike or even a spin bike. What the bike erg excels at is for cardio training. I do a lot of zone 2 work, and it’s great for that. The HR meter connectivity is helpful. It’s also excellent for interval training. You can do zwift races, group rides, FTP tests, and all their workouts. As I said, the thing to remember is that it is not like a spin bike or a smart trainer. Finally, all its quirks aside, the bike erg is a solid piece of equipment. Like prof gym grade level. Virtually zero maint. Would I buy it again? Probably. I strongly suggest you arrange a test ride before purchasing it, tho. It’s not for everyone. Paired with the C2 rower in an alternating days routine, it’s hard to beat, but rowing isn’t as simple as you might think. Rowing is very much a whole world, and C2 is really a rowing machine company.

It’s not loud at all. I rode for 30 minutes today on my new BikeErg while my wife napped on the couch in the next room. No louder than a fan.

yes, should be higher. they offer a taller or a shorter seat post but you have to call concept2 to order
