Last fall, I finally made up my mind to jump in project that I had had in mind for a long time.
Go to the adventure in northern Quebec.
Yes I know as a Canadian I already live in a Nordic country.
But did you know that 90% of the Canadian population live within 100 miles of the US border?
So it's not for nothing that I wanted to go climb some parallels to see with my own eyes all these beautiful isolated regions.
When I first thought of the North, all I expected was to see lifeless landscapes.
Well I was wrong, because I was about, just like you, to discover one of the most beautiful regions in the world.
My name is Pascal Marquis, and I am pleased to present you my latest adventure, in Northern Quebec.

Looks like a kayaker's dream. I have always wondered what northern Quebec looks like. I used to just stare at the map and get curious about all that space....and silence. Thanks so much for making this video.! Really smooth production.

i went to a town called Radisson a few years ago to work on a local hotel. the final leg of the trip saw us enter a stretch of the James bay road that was 600km with absolutely nothing along the way besides one rest stop. we had check in at a gate before we started.. just incase we never made it out the other end someone would know to look for us. i was amazed at how small and sparse the trees are (they have such a short growing season) we could see for miles around. the Ontario side of James bay seems to be a much thicker forest. the entire trip took us 22hrs took drive from Cobourg Ont. pretty much the same time it would take us to drive to Florida. Another thing about Radisson was that one our work crew got injured and required stiches. it happened around 8pm on a weekend and we thought he was going to be in trouble.. but nope. there was a doctor 5 houses away and he was able to walk in and was back on the job in about 30mins, way better than the service you get in any city.

It's a shame the Canadian sheild doesn't allow much access to the area but it's it's beautiful part of the world with limited human contact

Thank you for this! I am American but have lived in Montreal many years. I watch a lot of KZbinrs who live in Northern Sweden, Northern Norway, Svalbard, etc., but it has crossed my mind that right here in Quebec I think we have the same natural beauty and very similar landscapes? But so few people have explored it! You have gotten my imagination going, I hope to see these places someday!

Ahah!! Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you enjoyed. You are right, the north of Quebec is very unexplored. Radison was not even so high. There is many northen village but there is no road to reach it.

I liked the video but I'm just wondering why you didn't drive to the Caniapiscau reservoir at the end of the Trans Taiga Road
@PMA
@PMA 5 ай бұрын
Thanks. The road was very hard to travel with my Jetta especially with the bigs gravel they just added on it. I would have been easier with a pick-up truck or a SUV. I was worried that something broke on my car at the very end. At this distance the towing would probably have been more expensive than the value of my car. 😅

how is it more expensive to fly from montreal to northern quebec?? a flight from montreal to japan is almost $3,000 cheaper at $1,413 and its waaay farther
@PMA
@PMA 11 ай бұрын
The things is that there is not much plane that fly to northen quebec compare to Japan. And those plane must be hard to fill. So you pay for rarety and those unsold seats.

Love from Mississauga, Ontario! We watched your video last evening on our TV's YT feature where the video looked mega-super-awesome! We were in awe. Our family of 6 (3 children, well actually 4 with our dog) love Quebec's Parc Canada and SEPAQ managed national parks. We have been to 5 of those in the Laurentian Mountain range: Parc National du Mont Tremblant, Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay, Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie, Parc national de la Mauricie, and Parc marin du Saguenay-Saint-Laurent. Your voyage was jaw dropping. We wanted to follow in your footsteps but given our family constraints we will limit ourselves to the managed parks only. Please make more videos on the 'gorgeous Quebec'

Hi very nice video I was wondering around how much did it cost you for this adventure
@PMA
@PMA Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Well, it didn't cost a lot. Basically it only cost me Diesel in my car. I slept in it, so there is no hotel fee, and I don't count food as expense as I would eat at home anyway. I don't remember by heart but I would say it cost me under $300CAD to make the adventure.
