Discs and Cases not matching is a problem with almost every retro store. You can just tell them you don't want it when you see if does not match if it is an issue.

Personally I think these guys should stay out of it, they can't spot bootlegs which is sad

Training people is difficult in every industry. Not sure GameStop has a great record on this historically so hard to expect this

I got a fake game at my local GameStop. Unfortunately it’s a hit or a miss at each store.

I accidentally purchased a repro ds cart from gamestop. Only realized after I brought the game home that it was inauthentic. I mean, gamestop is a videogame retailer... so I didn't think I would need to authenticate the game in store. Luckily, gamestop refunded me without much fuss.
