I have come back to this a number of times and with a new respect for Pol and his musicianship. Rita chose well in Juna's dad. Some haunting and strong stuff here.

this will be a very unpopular comment, but imho he has been a negative influence on her musically. she was doing such fantastic jazz....to me this pop music is not interesting...and for god's sake he cant sing, and his guitar is mediocre at best.......mostly its probably helped him....she was begining an international career playing with fairly big names. and now? Pol will never be known outside of Catalunya, perhaps in other parts of Espanya...but if it makes Rita happy, that's all that matters really. But for me, musically, its a big loss

He has top billing here, so she's supporting him. Those Barcelona young'uns take turns like that on a regular basis. And, at 22, Rita still has a lot of musical styles to explore if she chooses. I guess this is "moody troubadour," which could help on the lyric side. Her solo at the 42-minute mark is vintage Rita, and she plays the mellowest trombone on the planet. Right now she's in the middle of a 5-country, 8-day concert tour supporting "Como la piel." So she's not abandoning her roots. But, as you say, anything that makes her happy is all right by me.

Trite and unfair. New Folk music emerges because of this, a little rough to start but Pol's singing and guitar playing are improving as the collaborations multiply... Besides, Pol's maturing nicely. The cloaks and baggy pants have gone completely.
