I went to that Gwar, Sacred Reich, and Toxic Holocaust show! Except the one I went to was in Oklahoma City at the Diamond Ballroom. I caught a pick from Sacred Reich and got a picture with Toxic Holocaust after the show was over. Plus to this day there are still stains on the ceiling from when Gwar played.

Great stories! Im supposed to be working but I’m on KZbin haha. I took my oldest daughter to the first date of that same Slayer tour in Asheville. I used one of those parking apps because I didn’t want to walk a mile in the cold. I couldn’t find the parking area and I pulled in right behind the building, which looked like a pay to park and there was a spot. The other cars didn’t appear to have parking passes, so I took the chance and we walked up behind the building past the tour buses and made it in time for Slayer. After the show, I was happy to see the car wasn’t towed. A lucky night haha.

My father and I went to see Anthrax in Rochester in the summer. I’m sure there’s many people who know this story, but for anyone who doesn’t, the show got cancelled. We went to the venue and waited for the opener Hatebreed. We listened to them and they had been putting on a great show. This was until they said they were going to cut the set short because of the stage. They end and we then wait for an hour for Black Label Society. Then an older man, probably working for Black Label, came out and said the rest of the show was canceled. Me and my dad were both bummed out. We ended up just pigging out on food that we got at the supermarket once we got to the hotel 😂. A week later, we went to see Quiet Riot. We saw a woman who we recognized from the Anthrax concert. She was a photographer and she told us that the stage caved in at the venue and that the venue knew this a day before. She said that Anthrax was going to come back in February 2023. I know that Charlie was touring with Pantera, but it’s May now and I’m still waiting. Still salty about it. I listen to my Anthrax cds thinking about when I can see them again.

I have a Masquerade story.2010, I went to see Gary Numan not knowing he cancelled due to throat issues.On the way home my car broke down and I was able to be towed to Chattanooga TN where I spent the night in my car.The next morning I was able to get my car fixed and drove home.

I went to a Slayer Show at PNC with Anthrax and Behemoth, while I was down in the main pit with some friends of mine, another pit opened up near where the rest of my family was. Apparently the guys who opened up that pit were not being cognizant of everyone around them, my uncle went to move his chair and one of the drunk guys intentionally kicked him. So my mom actually punched him out, my friends who were up by family all thought it was funny to watch a 50 something woman drop a 20 something dude. I know that isn't as cool as one of your stories, but the moral is, if someone is moving away from your pit, don't be a jerk, let them gather their things in peace.

I can relate to your scammer story. I foolishly paid $60 to a scammer to see one of my favorite bands, synthpop band Chvrches in 2018. The show had sold out months ago and it was my own fault waiting so long to finally buy a ticket. I find the scammer in a Facebook event page a week before the show, I paid him, and I never got the ticket. One week later a few hours before the show, I see an Instagram post that said that there were a few more tickets released (which were also $60.) So I ended up paying it again. And just for kicks and giggles, I took another look at that Facebook page and everyone was now complaining that there were a lot of scammers. But yes, I learned a lesson after this incident. Don't wait to buy tickets, especially considering how awful of a company Ticketmaster/Live Nation continues to be.

Like the first time I went to see Municipal Waste i brought this chick i had a crush on with me cuz she never been to a metal before and so 3 locals went on and then MW and when that pit started she went in and broke her leg. I purchased Melvin’s tickets through seat geek and got scammed. They offered me a refund through pay pall. I set up a pay pall account to get the refund and as sheet geek sent me my refund I get an email from pay pall that they think I’m an illegal and that my pay pall was terminated and another one could never me made with my name, number, or email. Basically I lost $300 and 4 tickets. Good thing is the security didn’t give a fuck and just let us all walk in without tickets

In the year 2010 my band was playing at a local venue and there were probably 50 people in attendance. at the very end of our last song, some random guy appeared out of thin air (I hadn't seen him in the crowd before that) and tried to start a mosh pit but lost his balance and at the very last note of our last song, he hit the back of his neck against the stage. he was unconscious and the crowd was freaking out trying to help/revive him. I was like "oh no! anyway..." and left. never found out what happened after that.

Oh man that last story I can relate to. I have one good friend that has never been to a concert, ever, in his life. Im always asking him to go with me, even offering to pay for his ticket, and drove us, just so I wouldn't be alone. He always has some lame excuse. He rather sit at home alone smoking than getting out in the world at least once a month.

I saw Fear Factory some 20 odd years ago in a small club in Cleveland as a dumb naive 18ish year old with my gf at the time. Before they went on, some guy bummed a cigarette off my gf and started talking to her. Afterwards I asked her what he said. She said he told her he just got out of county, and the guy didn't seem quite right. During the show, we see this same guy being completely reckless in the pit. Throwing elbows, just being an asshole. Everyone knows you don't mosh to hurt anyone, if someone falls you quickly help them up so they don't get trampled on. This guy was just being stupid with no regard for anyone around him. After about 3 minutes of this, and all at once, all 15 other guys in the pit converged on the asshole, beating him down into the ground, and then kicking the shit out of him. It was one of the most glorious instances of karma I'd ever seen as a dumb, naive kid.
