Interesting musical piece where the oboe interacts with timpani, something very rare and somewhat surprising .. However, it is very pleasant to listen to. Excellent performance of the oboe, with a superb sound! Thank you for sharing . Cordially .

I love the timpani and I love hearing them with other instruments. I can remember how surprised and pleased I was when I heard the part for flute and tympani in Orff's Carmina Burana. Wish other composers would do more!

VERY unusual combo. I like the accompanying clarinets with tympani. Tympani more accompaniement to the oboe mostly. The cadenza is amazing. Parts sounding a bit like Beethoven's music, Druzetsky obviously a skilled composer and oboist. Thanks for the upload!

From Wiki: Druschetzky studied oboe with the noted oboist and composer Carlo Besozzi in Dresden. He then joined the band of an infantry regiment in Eger, with which he was later stationed (sequentially) in Vienna, Enns, Linz, and Branau. In 1777 he was certified as a drummer. In 1783 he moved to Vienna, where he became a member of the Tonkünstler-Sozietät. Three years later he was Kapellmeister for Anton Grassalkovič of Gyaraku and moved to Bratislava. It is believed he started writing music in the 1770s, most of it for his band. He also wrote chamber music and music for orchestra, including 27 symphonies and concertos for various instruments. A couple of his operas survive, but a suite of incidental music and a ballet are known to be lost. Druschetzky is credited with one of the earliest uses of the BACH motif. Druschetzky died in Buda.

Impressionante! A liberdade e invenção musical de misturar timbres inusitados em Georg Druschetzky é comparável a Vivaldi que fez misturas únicas em seus concertos para diversos instrumentos. Aliás em todo século XVIII a música inventiva, rústica e curiosa foi corrente. Leopold Mozart seguiu esse caminho.

Baroque concertos far surpass classical in variety and inventiveness. There are also concertos for 2, 3 and as many as 7 timpani sets!

La marca la desconozco absolutamente, pero sin duda son baquetas de madera, lo que es muy raro pues se utilizan más para acompañar el sonido de los bronces que a las cuerdas o un oboe, pero quedan muy bien 👏👏👏

I'd sack the bassoonist for being late, and if I was the leader of the orchestra I'd sue for making him deaf. Otherwise It's fun and almost worthy of PDQ Bach. I can also see the disgust in the leader's face. "Here I am a fully trained musician playing this beautiful instrument that has taken me a lifetime to practice to the perfection I have and there is that guy just hitting drums". I somehow sympathise with the violinist, even though I don't have much time for them.

That's extraordinarily disrespectful to the amount of skill necessary to play timpani at that level or being an orchestral percussionist in general. While percussion doesn't have near the same technical challenges as violin, it still requires extremely high skill to play at this level. That said, it's surprising that there isn't a shield barrier between the strings and the timpani for the sake of hearing safety.
