I am looking forward to seeing more Concord Mall videos. It really is a beautiful mall. I am fascinated watching dead malls videos. Keep up the good work!

Being a Delaware native, I have been going to this mall since I was a born in '71. I remember it before Macy's (Strawbridge and Clothier before that) was built. It was where the main entrance to the Mall was located before Macy's was added. I loved it in the 80s when I was in 7th and 8th grade and into high school. We would ride our bikes there to go the arcade called Spaceport, have lunch, shop for cassettes at Sam Goody, etc. Before it was refurbed in early 90's it had an ugly brown tile flooring. I still stop there every once in while but a lot of stores have closed up (probably because of the pandemic and influx of online shopping) including Sears. The mall is dead. Cafe Riviera pizza is still there though which opened in the mall I think in 1983. Great pizza.

I love Cafe Riviera! We used to have one at Neshaminy Mall, but they closed, and Concord is the only one left.

Do you remember if the current MACY'S HOME STORE (which is completely separate from the regular Macy's store and sells kitchen supplies) was a LECHTERS HOUSEWARES store years ago? Also do you remember ever going to the original Strawbridge & Clothier store in Wilmington at the Merchandise Mart Shopping Center (now called Merchants Square Shopping Center) or the CINEMART movie theater across the street from it?

This what a mall should look like. Happy shoppers carrying bags full of stuff. It’s obvious that the owners have invested in this place and have kept it fresh over the years. You got to spend money to make money and they have. Excellent!

Thanks so much for this! I have not been to this mall in so many years but it makes me want to drive down there. I love that there are still fountains and plants and some of those great mall details that are hard to come by anymore. Keep up the great work on your channel!

If anyone can post pictures of the Concord Mall in the 70s or 80s that would be great

At the @9:00 mark that is John Rawlings of 6ABC prior to his retirement. Around the @9:10 mark, you can see Cafe Riviera. As I mentioned on your Neshaminy Mall video from a couple of month ago, there was a Cafe Riviera there. It was located next to where the Jean Madeline Institute is currently at. Prior mall management (either GGP or Simon) forced them out. Losing Cafe Riviera was a death blow to the mall, considering they could of easily put the Jean Madeline Institute down by the AMC theater. The Cafe Riviera was owned by brothers and they each advertised on the trucks and catering they did. Only difference between the 2 Cafes was Neshaminy Mall was cafeteria style and the Concord Mall is a sit down restaurant.

Out of curiously, I counted the amount of stores/food places at the mall on the website. I came up with 65. This mall was normally at about 90 stores. Yikes.
