Beautiful rendition. I first heard this done with Jack DeJohnette, Dave Holland and Gerri. This trio supported Ms Betty Carter on one of her tours. Great CD..

I heard of this girl from a doc I don't recall the name of. It was a real story about a band leader who taught high school kids to play jazz on par with any professional. She was maybe 14 in the 70's, and I know it was good, because I immediately went, "Who IS that?" I'm extremely hard on other musicians, particularly other drummers and singers (including me). Namely because I know what's involved. And Auto-tune DOES. NOT. EFFING. COUNT. Period. I don't normally go for slow jazz, either. Terri Lynne Carrington on drums is going crazy slowly and subtly here. It's a LOT harder to play slow, accurate and gentle than it is to thrash away. Any fool can (and does) do that.

There are times I prefer Terri, it does not always have to be the bombastic talents of Daddy Dave or Thomas Pridgen

Terri over Thomas any day.

The more I try to listen, the more I think I can hear her choices... for me, her ears add another dimension, drums without drumming (Carlin White great drummer too)

This is really great, but I don't think the soprano sax + singer sections were a good idea. She's close to getting it perfect, but there are some painful notes. I think one or the other would be a better choice. In my opinion, go with the singer; not because the sax is bad, because I think she's awesome, but because the sax has a ton of other cool parts and the timber of that singer's voice fits that part PERFECTLY. :D

Tiene cojones, bueno... ovarios. Todas son mujeres en el escenario. Genial. La música es bastante hortera pero se deja escuchar.
