I can’t wait to get started and to play around and hope that I get even remotely close….but now that I see how you approach each piece and your use of dry brushing is spot on. Lol ,Bruce?? My name is Daryl or I go by the gris.Thanks for the kind words.That's a tough one,I grow them here we are in the interior of British Columbia,And we get very hot and dry summers (low humidity).I have to really baby them ,lots of water ,direct sun but not afternoon too hot here.They grow best in western Washington ,and the west coast of B.C. See if you can ask a local horticultural society or garden club about their thoughts on it.

Hello, Thanks for your reply. I have had a lot requests for my leaves do you have a ball park figure that I should charge for the painted or unpainted leaves? Thanks for your time, Joanne
@mrconcreteartisan6 жыл бұрын
Hey Joanne ,that's a tough question. It depends on what your market can bare.What I sell mine for may not work in your area. Depends as well on quality, size ,rareness of a leaf ,or the difficulty factor as well.All I can tell you is we sell from $20 up to $1500.
@joannebrazeau65336 жыл бұрын
mrconcreteartisan my leaves are turning out quite nicely, I am very proud of my painted one. The unpainted leaf that I’ve made would be a medium size regular rhubarb leaf. Could I charge $30 for that one perhaps? How much would you charge for your big leaf in this video?

Hi Leslie ,wait 24 hours before sealing after paint .Wait another 24 for the sealer to cure before putting it in the outdoors.

So if you don't seal them, don't the colors run? Is it just for decoration? It's beautiful!

I am trying to make one of these at the moment , I would like to use it to make a fountain for our koi pond . If I use a cement sealer is it ok to use for a fish pond . Thanks and your work is fantastic I hope I can make one that’s even slightly as good as your work ,messaging from the midlands in the uk

Morning Nicky (well , my morning). Use a water based sealer,and no it won't affect your fish . My pond is a testing ground with sealed pieces submerged in the pond.Going on ten years with no adverse effects.Good luck to you from the wilds of British Columbia lol.

Thanks for your reply I have now made 3 that I am really chuffed with even managed to paint them to my liking ! Long story but I painted them before applying the sealer ! @mrconcreteartisan6 жыл бұрын
No mold for these, each one is cast from a single leaf , no two are the same.I grow 90% of the different leaves out back of my shop in a large garden and two greenhouses.I have made molds and sell them(skins) for clients who can't grow theses leaves in their area.
