Is a concrete or vinyl liner pool better for me?
Concrete pools cost $50,000 or more and require expensive long-term maintenance. They can be any shape but take 3-6 months to install. Vinyl liner pools cost $25,000 or more and need the liner replaced every 5-9 years. They take 3-6 weeks to install but tend to look cheap.

If you know you have a high water table where the pool is being installed. Would you go with concrete over vinyl to prevent floating liners?

All you need to look at as far as Durability is ask yourself what do they Use at high traffic public pools and water parks intended to serve for long time ? It's not a Vinyl or fiber glass pool it's concrete .

Those pool parks also require full customization, which is indeed only achieved with concrete.

Keep up the vids! Most of the pools where I am located are vinyl due to costs. I have just a handful of customers with a plaster pool.

Thanks Pool Tech 1! We are (obviously) die-hard believers in fiberglass pools...but above all else, we LOVE seeing families have fun in their backyard pool, no matter what type it is.

Im scared if i get a vinyl pool it will get punctured how fragile is the liner and if there a small hole will the whole liner have to get replaced

Problem with ours that came with the house is it has Metal walls. i think the skimmer gaskets are leaking water right now because the metal is rusting out. We were already on a tight budget. If the liner isnt installed right it can also rip out of the sides. You can get a patch kit for small holes for like 20$. We never had a noticeable hole

We sell fiberglass...don't hide it at all. Just want to give information to folks who are looking for it. And we're happy to provide it even if it means someone DOES NOT purchase one of our pools. It's what makes us different.

well, they are a bit hyper critical of every potential issue with concrete or vinyl but kinda glaze over the fact that fiberglass has the biggest risks of all 3 when it comes to installation and settling of the ground over time. As such, they can suffer from cracks and leaking over time that you wouldnt have seen with either vinyl or concrete. You're also very limited on fiberglass in terms of pool depth options- I don't think they can make deep, oblong pools at 8 or 9 feet and almost all of them topped out around 5 -6 feet. Riverpools only had one rectangular that goes to 8.5ft. Concrete resurfacing is about 3-5 grand (depending how fancy you want to get) and it can easily last upwards of 10-15 years if you take care of it. It's not as big of a deal as people make it out to be; it's barely much more than a pool liner and on a similar frequency of time.
