They're expecting a delivery and leaving vans and machinery all over the place, really opens my eyes to what truckers have to deal with on a daily basis! One would hope that building sites especially had an idea of how much room was needed for an artic since they get deliveries often, but apparently not!

35 years in this job and so nice to see so much professionalism from this young man! Beautiful work Raul! I have covered most aspects of this job and to see this young man handle siuations with such skillfull ease makes me happy.lol The movement at the traffic lights was perfect, just as I would have done, Praise Brother! Please people, if you consider youself a "Driver" then in my humble opinion, you would llearn a lot from this man! Last word, call it OCD or professionalism, the tidying of the strap s is beautiful, but.... the twang got me lol

The twang is a carry over from the old roping and sheeting days , back then with jute ropes if it started raining en route we always stopped periodically to check they hadn't stretched and loosened off, and rather than check every dolly you gave the rope a bang - if it twanged it was tight if it didnt......you re- set the dolly, good practice young man - we will make a wagon driver of you yet lol. As an aside I was impressed with your blind side reversing but personally I would have got the dope with that JCB tele handler to move the damn machine first before I started reversing into that yard...bet he was watching you to see if you hit it....but wouldn't move the blinding thing - I used to get things like that a lot back in the old days - before I learnt to say "eff em ....move the damn thing or I stay here till you do" grrrrr !

Raul is an excellent driver. He certainly knows how to handle his truck, and his reversing into awkward spaces is particularly impressive I would suggest we could see some of the loading and unloading to add to the interest. A little less of the supersonic roadwork would be a great improvement.!! ,

Impressed!! Very professional. No rip tear, methodical, safety conscious and looks after the gear. Couple of observations - the first load of re bar sees you consider the strap placement and opt for an extra strap / and note you always place the winches on the off side of the trailer, I know plenty of blokes who say it doesn't matter but it does. If you need to adjust the straps mid travel you don't want to be working on the traffic side. Especially relevant for dogs and chains - dog lets go you finish up out in the traffic! Tell the Boss your worth more money lol! Enjoyed.

Brilliant reversing, I just got my first class 1 job after passing on a contract, not through agency, the company agreed to take me on and fully train me for 2 weeks to get my reversing up to a higher standard, I’ll be helping out the shunter for about a week and then go out to easier stores after that with another driver, looking forward to a new challenge. I have been on the class 2 tippers for over a year now. Some of these sites we get sent to are a nightmare however good experience to have, glad I done the tippers as I will never be out of work if something does not work out with the class 1, considering I have all the necessary cards and courses the MPQC, SUD CYCLING, TARMAC ONE CARD etc.

Hi Raul , thank you for another great video , I have notice that when you strap up a load you always put the rachets on the passenger side just like my late step father used to do when he was driving , but alot of drivers put rachets on both sides , take care stay safe and drive carefully 👍👍👍
@Raul689
@Raul689 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks James. The reason i put the ratchets on the passanger side is that in case of an emergency stop on the hard shoulder, if something gets loose, it would be safer to stay on that side and tight them up. But everyone is free to put them as they wish :) And also its easyer to organise them in the storages. All the best stay safe 👍👍👍

Great VLOG mate, I really enjoyed that one 👍. I think the fens around Boston is more like Kansas and the central plains, when I'm there it usually smells of cabbage! I'm an owner driver courier in a van, sub-contracting by the job, usually do 10-15 jobs a week. Very similar in terms of flexibility and the 'fishing' aspect, some days I catch a specimen of a job and other days I catch a little tiddler. No 2 days are the same and it's the ultimate in flexible working. Glad to hear you like the Renault, if I do move up to trucks in the future I'd look to get a T range. Were all the ones you drove the T460? You say it pulled like a train so the T480 should be even better with the 13 litre engine instead of the 11litre in the T460. They have sorted the steering wheel/column issues in the new T range, Stavros 969 did a review on one a few weeks ago.

Why the straps around the top of the trailer with re bar on? Thanks
@Raul689
@Raul689 3 жыл бұрын
Those are safety straps or fall protection for when you get on top of the rebar. Usualy all sites require 2 on each side. Cheers
