concrete spacer blocks - Building Construction

this Video shows how concrete spacer blocks was placed in Slab, Beam and Girder. The purpose of these concrete spacer blocks is to keep the required concrete cover of the reinforced rebar thus it avoids direct contact with the rebar from the formwork. It also includes simple way on how to mould and prepare the concrete spacer blocks. For the Mould we have different technique on how to prepare thus this content does not limit to other method.

Thickness should not be less than 25mm.. this is to maintain the required concrete cover. Salamat sa panonood

Nakabaon siyempre pero kung madamage tamaan ng Barena, mahirap magrepair need basagin ulit yung concrete to trace. Kung main pipe for a building malalaki diameter mga yung and it should be exposed

residenttial engineer, townshouse po pa extend lang, isa pa tanong engr. diba lahat ng beam dapayt naka patong sa poste, yung beam po sa may stair wala pong poste sa ilalim po eh window.

in my experience we use 50mm this is to maintain its concrete cover . while Slab on grade / pressure slab is much thicker, most of the time we use chair bar instead of spacer blocks for SOG

*Try to check po sa general structural notes (design notes) kung ano po concrete cover sa bawat specific structural element.. based sa experience ko, mas makapal ung concrete cover sa mga structural element na exposed sa weather and soil like raft, footings, retaining walls.. compare po sa mga superstructures.*
