Just a tip for people who want the propane heat and fire but not the big tank. I built this and used the small Coleman tank used for camping stoves. The tank is small enough to fit inside the walls of the concrete and you can still get the big adjustable flames

Her design was the best. The build concept was on track. Would have built inside box taller and with no bottom and secured that box to the bottom of outer box with pocket holes on inside of inside box. Or secured with hot glue or silicone caulking. If the inner box is secured with glue or caulk, then a bottom could be added for additional strength and box inserted upside down. My thought's only with 20/20 hindsight. However, I love using propane for fuel source with plug inserted on side for hose to pass through. Heidi WINS!

That foam board should just melt out with a heat gun. I think at least. I really like them both. For a more permanent fire of course the propane. But to have it wherever you want to go, the citronella or fuel cans are really awesome. Those fuel cans are also usable indoors so that’s an advantage. 👍🏼🤍

@@TimberTea Just came across this video and while a heat gun might work, the smell and possible damage to the concrete would be something to worry about. Instead, most foams will dissolve with acetone or similar solvents (the reason you cannot spray paint foam...). Pour a little solvent into the edges of the foam and give it a few seconds to start eating away. Then simply pull the block out and wipe down the sides for any residue.
