Condemned Gas Tower Climb - POV

This tower is the tallest thing in my whole town and I've always meant to climb it one day. When I heard it was going to be flattened (to build yet another supermarket of all things) I finally got around to actually doing it.
If you recognise the location and live locally please consider putting in a complaint to the planning proposals on their website to stop them pulling it down for something worse.

This old gasometer was a much easier climb than I was expecting as the inspection ladder was still almost intact despite this thing being scheduled for knocking down since about 2007. Plans for building houses on the land are always stopped because of contaminated topsoil from when it was in use so it's just stayed there, being the only tall thing in the skyline for miles around. It apparently still gets inspected every year-ish and someone opens the vents on top to stop the tower pressurising so I grabbed a hi-vis jacket for a bit of urban camouflage, which worked perfectly. Any exploring I do in future I'll angle the camera down a bit more (this was filmed with a headmount) so you can better see what I'm doing rather than just my hands moving around, I'd trusted the fish-eye to get everything in shot which it didn't quite do. Especially the shot from the top where I'm standing on the edge it doesn't go as wide as I'd hope and I don't think I'm likely to get a selfie stick somehow. Anyone who knows video encoding can you please help me with what I can do to stop the blockiness and tessellation in the sky and treetops, I've used around twice the recommended bitrate but it's still far more noticeable than the raws from my camera.

As a kid I always wanted to climb the old decommissioned gas holder in my town...but town officials decided to blow up the massive tank a few years ago.

sweet, and highly illegal... I'm not gonna be a party nitwit, but I'd hate to see your channel go just because you were in a closed off public area without permission or ending up with the worst, falling off something like that.

I wouldn't worry about it, people have made careers out of doing this sort of thing and KZbin actively supports them - James Kingston, for example, has had more promotion from them than I could ever dream of and has about 600k subs because of it. Thanks for caring though!
