The last time we were in Tulum was twenty years ago. I have a degree in Mayan archaeology, so am not all that concerned with the touristy aspect of things. Staying at a quiet resort, traveling on local buses, checking out the markets, going to restaurants preferred by the locals, listening to a classical guitar at some local cantina, exploring the Mayan sites, oc course, practicing my really bad Spanish, swimming in that beautiful warm blue water, snorkeling, hiking, just make your own kind of music. Too bad that over-tourism is ruining things.

This is a great video it should be playing on every plane coming to Tulum or anywhere in Quintana Roo for that matter, Mexico is more than a place for tourists to come party and leave waste! But also local people need to understand that their land is worth more than any money brought over by tourists, it is not worth it. ❤

Check the latest news. President Sheinbaum hired a company to kiII jaguars in the Yucatan because "they are dangerous". This is a catastrophe.
