Canada took some unbelievably stupid penalties. I think they should be able to do better in front of the home crowd. The fans must have paid some money to get there to cheer. In Finland, at least, tickets cost a lot. If the players in Finland would do that and ruin the whole game, I believe that the coach will not only yell at the players, but that something more physical can also happen.

Great game by the US. They and Finland are the best in the Tournament. They have speed and amazing scoring abilities.I love our Canadian boys but they are just outclassed. Good effort Canada you put a lot of heart in the game. Will stick with you until the end!!

I'm a passionate Canadian fan. Don't even go there (the officials)!!! This team is a disgrace on SO many levels it's not even funny. From the core roster to the coaching staff, they are SO underwhelming, they almost appear to have been bought! I'd skate this team in practice until they pewked. If you don't pewk, you don't even dress for the next game. AND, you clean up your own mess on the ice. What a selfish bunch of entitled upstarts! There are but a few that actually put their heart and soul into this event - Carter George being but one. The rest look like they are performing for a big lottery pay-out - no continuity among players, no passion, no structure, and a complete lack of discipline/savvy, which further supports them not being the right players. It's more like, "Look at ME, look at MEEE! I'm awesome....(not)." Step aside. You're about to be belittled by at least 3 other nations!

Despite all the needless penalties, team Canada just doesn’t have the goal scoring prowess we are used to seeing. I hope they prove me wrong, but they don’t seem to have what it takes to win the gold this year.

most of canadas penalties were correct.. one or two in there were weak for sure, but most of them were dumb and avoidable. especially the latest two with the boarding and then the punch of the face.. and being good defensively is great and all, but you need goals. i also do no see where this canadian team stands out. all forwards skate and does the same thing, they all look the same. where is the lanky sniper? or the bulldog forechecker? or the clutch guy? i think cowen tries to something, but ends up being a net negative. canada goes into the QF with more questions than last year, and last year was suppose to be a bad year.

I totally agree with you. Usually the kind of penalties that Canada drew are often because you're being outskated and outplayed. Canada couldn't cope with USA forwards speed and determination, and got into penalty trouble out of frustration. Canada needs to fix their team defensive framework and begin playing and sacrificing for each other, their team and for Canada, rather than for individual spotlight. I guess when you're used to being top scorer and star on your junior team, you haven't worried too much about defense.

Cameron hasn't managed to get his team to play like a team; Canada looked like a bunch of conceited individual stars concerned about shining in the spotlight rather than about sacrificing for each other. Playing for their own NHL stock instead of their Country. USA was full measure.

Totally undisciplined! US has now won 6 of the last 8 meetings.. Perhaps the problem is that all the CDN players come out of Major Junior which is rough , tolerates fighting etc. The US players come out of NCAA for the most part. (6 0r7 from Boston College alone) where cages are worn, refereeing is tight and fighting leads to eviction. It has been the same story for years now yet Hockey Canada has learned nothing. I thought the US was faster through the lineup and more skilled, sharper passing etc. PWHL is FAR more entertaining hockey than the Can-USA junior. Lots of speed, structure, superior passing and end to end play.

Up to now there was no 'team Canada'. There was just a collection of excellent players, trying to impress themselves and Canadian fans, but there was NO TEAM Canada! The problem of 'team Canada' was not with the players, but with Canadian coaches. Canadians should hire (much) better coaches, able/willing to establish 'the Team'. Well, that's for future.. for this championship Canada is just finished (unfortunately, I'm Montreal Canadians fan since around ~45 years. Great game by both teams. They will literally stomp on opponents in semi-final and final. As a Swede I noted the following: Sweden has clear issues playing North American teams. It is embarrassing to be honest. It only seems we get a little pumped up playing Finland and definitely our arch enemy Russia. Too much Tiktok and Instagram.

Really disappointed in the game Canada is showing, it’s like they don’t know the objective of the game is to score more than your opponent. I’m a USA fan, this game was really not much of a contest and Canada was lucky the scoring was as close as it was. Canada did win a few categories: most dumb penalties, most saves made by the post, most out of position D, most turnovers….

Leonard hits 3 posts, some of these kids could be put in an NHL lineup and fit right in, all these kids are at a level that's amazing, especially for their ages, in my day our bantam All Stars from Boston would go to Canada every year in different Canadian cities, people were generous and as hospitable as it gets. They had outdoor rinks for the kids, how cool is that. 🇺🇸🏒🇨🇦
