Thanks for a very informative video, on the first best value SA on the market. Rigol made it economically possible for the serious Ham or RF Experimenter to OWN a new, and fully supported RF SA.As a Radio Ham, I immediately noticed that the largest USA Amateur Radio organization presented both an extensive Equipment Review (they buy a random sample like CU), and a Connecticut Cal Lab they sent it to for the report cal PASSED with no issues. Also the Lab Manager takes this model to Hamfest meets all over USA, and logs the often FAILING Baofeng ect cheaper handheld radios. The ARRL magazine also evaluated and uses RIGOL scopes. They DO also have the latest top-end Rhode & Schwartz Spectrum and Phase Noise equipment the top Ham and German Ingeneur Ulrich Rhode donated to the measurement lab to add to their test capability.

Thank you for the video. Would it be possible to do a video on radiated emissions pre-compliance testing?
@RigolTech9 жыл бұрын
+dogintwater Precompliance testing for Radiated Emissions can be a difficult task with many external factors involved. The RF environment (WiFi, Bluetooth, FM/AM radio, etc..) as well as the physical location of objects in the test room will change the readings drastically when making farfield measurements with an antenna. Experts in EMI have suggested using near field probes for finding trouble spots in lieu of far field measurements for precompliance tests. I have plans to do a near field video soon. You can also always write me at Jason_chonko@rigoltech.com if you have any specific questions or requests. Thanks for replying.

Good video, but I have a problem on my DSA815. When I save a setup file with pass/fail line created, I cannot get the trace out of freeze mode. Other setups without pass/fail line do not cause this issue.

Hello. The frequency and losses information can be entered as a Correction Factor from the front panel or via a USB memory stick. See the DSA815 User's Manual for more detail.

Why not use log frequency scale?

Can the split screen be turned off and still keep the pass/fail limit lines?

Hi. Currently, the instrument only shows the lines with the editor on the display. The S1210 software allows you more flexibility on the PC side to view that data, but I will mention it to the product team as a possible enhancement. thanks!

We have since purchased a new microphone. New videos will have better sound. Thanks for watching.

There is no EMI toolkit at this time. But, we are constantly developing new products and features. You can contact your local Rigol office for more information. Thanks!

How do you incorporate the LISNs frequency/loss factor into the analyser to ensure the measurements are correct. Also, how many points can be entered into the limit line since it is not always constant over the frequency range.

Hi Rowifi, if you are still interested, I can comment as an RF and Optical Networking - Analog/Compliance and Power engineer in Telecom since 1980. I just did a DC CEMI evaluation last month on our latest Terabit product with -48V DC PSM installed. I have built DC LISN's using my Ham Radio experience and ARRL Handbook. We have a similar Keysight 3GHz SA, unfortunately NOT ever QPEAK capable. The German 100A 4 channel LISN I bought to duplicate our local lab, who used it on earlier projects I did with them, was $7K new. It's LISN Factor is on the maker's website, and is less than 0.5dB over most of the range. This and cables and protector losses vs freq are part of the factors to add to your spreadsheet or program in if possible. Correct on the limit line, for CE it has few steps (below 500kHz because LW is not as important as AM BCB), but for Radiated there are more inflection points on account of the broadcast services and old TV bands! We use dBuV instead of mV, per FCC and Telcordia practice. The limit line is then 66 up to 500K, then 60dBuV to 30MHz. I like to split the scan into 3 ranges, for better display, 150K-500K; 500K-2M, and 2-30MHz "bands", to more accurately examine the emisions and fill out the results spreadsheet. Finally, the 9kHz EMI RB is to simulate an AM broadcast, being interfered with by the Conducted Emissions you are measuring.

So far so good. But please improve your audio. Take EEVBlog Dave Jones as an example. His one and a half men show has usually brilliant audio..

Pass/Fail limit lines are 200 points max. They can be manually entered, entered from a file, or you can use our free Excel Pass/Fail Builder on the rigolna website. Go to the product page and take a look at the software tab. You can also contact us at techsupport at rigol dot com KZbin won't let me insert links here. Sorry..
