Thank you so much for your videos. They've helped me to gain confidence in my driving and also they've taught me a lot of things my driving instructors didn't. The way you explain everything is what I like the most since it's simple, clear and straightforward. I came for the parking videos but everything you've uploaded has helped me somehow, and I even recommended your channel to my little sister, who is new to driving! Keep the good work and, again, thank you so much!

I took my permit test a few months ago; the handbook I used recommend driver's should be one "car length" for every 10 MPH you go. If I recall correctly, it said you should double your distance on wet roads.
@ConduiteFacile
@ConduiteFacile 6 жыл бұрын
That's pretty much the same distances I use in this video, but told in another way. However it's harder to judge car distances than to take a reference point.
@incognitocat555
@incognitocat555 Жыл бұрын
@@ConduiteFacile No, these distances are not the same at all. The time you give is 3 seconds, and for 100 km/h, that is roughly the 84 meters you state. However, 84 meters is about 18 car lengths. Whereas, 1 car length per 10 miles per hour is roughly 6 car lengths when traveling 100 km/hr.

got my license a week and a half ago. I noticed it's hard to keep those distances in heavy traffic, almost impossible. 2 situations I've been in last week. On the other side of the Pont-Tunnel, you're pare-choc to pare-choc, there's one lane, you can't even take your space. Same thing on the 10 in the morning, I don't really see anybody keeping those types of distances at all.
@ConduiteFacile
@ConduiteFacile 2 жыл бұрын
The distance you have to keep is always relative to the speed you're going at. So if you're stopped, or going at such a slow speed that you're almost stopped, you'll be a lot closer.

on a highway I drive only when theres no cars on the horizon since speed is so dangerous, in the city I try to keep 2 streets distance between cars and when someone overtakes and flips me off I tuck my head between my arms and legs, stopping difference from 50 to 60 km/h is 40 meters + 18,5 seconds reaction thats total of 357m ! easily 2 roads, and when there might be obstacles on the road I don't drive at all, just spreading the truth, stay safe drive slow !
