The cross path detection is a great feature in cars to as well as reverse auto braking

Just installed a reverse camera on my car. I always look back while reversing, but I want the camera to see anything low down that you can't see by looking back or from the mirrors. Curbs, rocks, fire hydrants, small animals, etc... When you install a camera yourself, you may end up with arbitrary lines, or you may be able to adjust your lines. I eyeballed my line adjustment for the moment, but I should really take some measurements and make sure the lines are where I want them to be. My impression is that most aftermarket cameras will only have the static lines. Some cars also also adjust the turning lines with your speed, not only with the position of the steering wheel.
@LB147453 жыл бұрын
When I reverse in tight space, I don't look at the lines. All I look at is the bumper. You can see the bumper at the bottom of the screen.

Quite a good video - but I don't agree as regards turning your head looking back as you reverse. I always use external and internal rear view mirrors when I reverse - that's something that is also necessary when driving a lorry or some other big vehicle. Turning your head as you reverse means you cannot see objects at the side you're not looking at. Using the rear view mirrors gives you a better overview (if you ask me).
@ConduiteFacile3 жыл бұрын
By turning your head you have a wider angle of view. You also see through the back passenger windows, as opposed to when looking at the mirrors where you only see to the sides (side mirrors), or directly behind (central mirror). But in reality, you should use a combination of both.

Interesting information in video. Appreciate looking back to see out of view things however some vehicles do not have the ability to do so being a truck or ute with solid tool cab on back that can only use side mirrors for backing. The camera in the video has a narrow field of view compared to some 2023 cameras advertising 170 Degrees Field of View if the Horizontal 170 deg is true. I have experienced with no reversing camera that where a Ute has no rear vision due to large solid tool cab on back and reversing out of an angle park where visibility to driver for on coming traffic is next to nothing due to other parked vehicles. that a wide angle camera would see the on coming traffic. I know that other cameras with 120 Deg field of view would be no good for this situation. What is your experience of the 170 deg view cameras as I think I need one for this vehicle?
