I've always thought the smash community is a reflection of the rest of the esports scene as a whole. Everything else is a bit more corporate and everyone moves on to the next game so it's hard to cultivate anything beyond just loving the IP. But smash has had to adapt with the times, and we're still here, and our initiatives send waves to the wider esports scene as a whole

Most fighting game communities are run with toxic people, 2 years banned without a say, without being allowed to say anything because the rivals of aether steam workshop curated character community are run by assholes, talented yes, but extreme assholes. I literally catagorised almost every single item of the steam workshop into collections, half a year before starting the project I checked with a mod and asked if I do that effort to attempt to do that so that the community can use it, that mod thanked me and said that's a fantastic idea so that people can save time downloading content, I'm banned In over 20 servers because they lied to thousands of people and simply didn't care that what I was doing I had already checked and did for the community, I'm not a sprite artist yet, I wanted to give back to the community I love, even now when I ask for help, ya know Zettas treetop discord ? I ask for help, insta banned, I ask them to explain and I'm just told you know what you've done over and over and over. I still update those collections to this day, never meat your idols I guess, tritone, spritestar, ruby, Archytas, and especially ZERKS. They just laugh at me and tell me nobody cares, they banned me for claiming I lied about ever working with the super smash Bros crusade dev team, even going as far as telling me when I ask for fairness "this isn't a court room lol" "if you admit you lied well let you back in" tritone told me they have a family, that they banned me and they tried to blackmail me when the truth is they crossed the line and made up bullshit about me. They banned me from over 20 seperate communities they have there paw in. Where is the justice in being judge hurry and executioner over a complete lie, they banned me for over 2 years and on going now, for claiming I lied and did the very thing they actually did, they lied about me ruined my reputation as I was told by ZERKS "Damage Control" I have over 1000 conversation screenshots yet I only need the one to completley prove it was a lie on their part. The very same person author, the crusade Dev which claimed I never worked with them who was my boss, also later on said and confirmed I never lied after the fact, which I have that screenshot of proving the curated character team are the ones who have done the very thing they claim I have done but refuse to actually be fair about, if the crime fits the punishment, they should be banned from those communities not me. "Nobody Cares"

The second half of this video is really important info, especially as a melee player and I think it would be a good idea to have this info more publicly available. I know A large portion of the panda cup is Ult so it's less important, but from the lens of a melee player the censoring and lack of prize money per event seemed like a deliberate middle finger from Nintendo. (Obviously the money is all in the finals but many were assuming SOMETHING would be sprinkled throughout the tourneys to keep people playing and not just qualifying and resting on their laurels) Knowing it was Coney that made these guidelines to be safe and clarity on the money involved made a HUGE difference in my perception of the event. I know you're not a paid PR person and people can't read anyway (Including myself most likely) but just some resource that isn't minute 10 of a YT video to address this would make a big difference for a lot of people. Again, this is mostly affects melee players and melee is cringe but there seems to be a HUGE gap in perception of the cup between melee and ult players and helping that at all would probably be a good idea going forward.

The main reason Daytona is a popular attraction is because of NASCAR. It's where their biggest race is held each year, appropriately named the Daytona 500, and it is the founding place of NASCAR itself in the Streamline Hotel. Daytona USA is a game developed, or at least published, by Sega and it was released in the arcade and the Saturn. You do drive stock cars found in NASCAR in that game too.

I've been a Tampa resident for my entire life, the rest of Florida constantly s*** talks Daytona because of how great it was in the '90s and how trash it is now. Pretty much ever since Dale Earnhardt died, the city has gone to ruin. Reason being is, NASCAR isn't as consistent of a tourist getter anymore. So a lot of the money that the city was getting from races has gone to normal s*** instead of fun stuff like the old boardwalk.
