Personally, I think sdpn needs to hire someone from the west to work remotely and provide some better takes on the western teams. It just seems very obvious that there are not many people working at sdpn who actually understand the western teams because the commentary is not very good whenever they are talking about teams in the western conference.

It's like this for so many hockey channels. Too many of them operate out of Toronto and understandably don't watch as much western conference hockey. Year over year I hear the same takes parroted and it's clear none of them watch the games so they just read a couple articles written by people who also don't watch the games and act like it's their own opinions. You'd think in the playoffs they'd actually watch all or most of the games, but it's still not the case. Makes watching the content unbearable sometimes as a fan of a west team

Edmonton has some of the best defence in the playoffs. Sleeping on Edmonton

@@loganguilbault269 too true, oilers have been then best team in the nhl since coaching change. Why people think they will be such a pushover is beyond me.

Not sure how you can do a segment on Florida - New York, expect it to be a blood bath, but not mention Tkachuk or Rempe. Going to be a hard bashing series. But doing a whole segment on the Dallas - Oilers matchup and not mentioning Draisaitl OR McDavid is crazy from a preview perspective. Give the Canucks their flowers, I thought Edmonton was going to win the series but Vancouver made them work hard for it and really rallied around their injuries. Dallas has been getting praised for their depth scoring, but if you compare team stats, they're pretty similar. Top end scoring is far in the Oilers favor. This isn't the same Oilers team as years past, and people are ready to accept that yet. Nurse has finally been given support in the form of Ekholm, a d-man Edmonton has desperately needed ever since... Klefbomb probably. We're waiting on Pavelski to step up and shell in the goals, but he's 39 now, he' just here to get that game 5 OT goal, and a 21 year old Wyatt Johnston to get it done vs McDavid. Dallas does clearly have the better goaltender. Not much to write about there.

I thought Drew actually watched Western games with him being an Avs fan, but he just parrotted all the typical East coast narratives about the Oilers. Bouchard has been great offensively and has been incredible defensively. He's leading the post season in +/- at +10 along with his 20 points with 3 GWG so far these playoffs. The Dallas Stars defense is just 5 guys, 4 of them playing over 24 mins per night and they're not huge, so the Oilers can definitely wear them down, and I mean Tanev was part of that Flames team that the Oilers dismantled 2 years ago. The Canucks didn't not show up in the final 2 games of that series, the Oilers defensive and structure shut them down and the Oilers dominated them like they had been for most of the series. If it wasn't for Henrique's absence, and the flu bug going through the Oilers room, that series would have been over in 5. The Dallas series is going to be a really good one, but it's definitely not lopsided like some people think.

Dallas is a complete team. While they were running 5 D for most of the playoffs, they switched lundqvist for petrovic in game 6 against Colorado who played 12 minutes in regulation. Dallas will continue with him until Hakanpaa is able to come back. This will be very similar to the Colorado series for Dallas. McDavid and Draisaitl will be able to steal a game or two for sure, but Dallas depth will take this series over.
@Marixa19794 ай бұрын
@@jessicaburbankhater It will be a bit tougher for the Stars defense as against the Avs, they only had 1 line they had to worry about, whereas they'll focus on the McDavid line, but Draisaitl eats people alive in the playoffs. Hoping Henrique is able to come back this series to tighten up the 3rd line to give the Oilers 4 lines that are really quite good.

I agree! That comment that they made on Bouchard was brutal, they are not watching the games, they are just giving their opinions on the players basically if they like them or not.

Florida and Dallas cup final
@shaman23844 ай бұрын
I had the same idea. I'll go with Dallas > Florida since they beat the last cup champs already even while being down. Florida seems too wired to lose to rangers and Dallas with Pavelski is going all in if they get to the final.
