Great series. Lolly. I've been gradually going through, cleaning out and donating my no longer wanted craft supplies. While I'm doing it, I think about the joy it will bring to the person who receives the donated craft supplies.

Before Stamping' Up, I had so many but not as much as you yardstick & pattern papers. I had to downsize when I moved. It drove me crazy that I couldn't match the card stock to the pattern papers -- so I donated them and kept the pads I liked. I moved again and donated more stuff. I still have scraps with my Stampin' up collections but its much more manageable and so happy that the card stocks matches all the DSP. I keep the card stock scraps in a binder and the DSP scraps in the 12x12 sleeves separated by collections.

This video is total deja vu. Thanks for your honest confession! I've heard some areas have second-hand craft stores that will give you store credit for donations that you can use to get different stashes. It would be great to run a swap of sorts, but at this point I decided to stop buying and use up what I have. And, I hate to admit this, but I've recycled a lot too. Thankfully, one of my kids is now interested in paper crafting and she took a load off my hands (a drop in the sea of paper in reality, but it helps). True confession--she also took a lot of washi tape I didn't want so I went out and bought a bunch of new washi tape. Not doing so good on the "stop buying" resolution.😂

I have 70 Iris cases of 12x12 lose patterned paper all organized by theme. 8 1/2x11 patterned paper in 4 Iris cases. My paper pads fill an entire 5 shelf unit. My solid papers are in 5 slatted separated wood stackable cubes. My scraps are all organized by color in Fruit crates. I worked at a Scrapbook store for 8 years in exchange for product.

Sitting here with piles and piles of scrapbooking paper. Have decided to cut out all the cut-out parts and put them into boxes, because otherwise they will never be used. ' Also taking all 12x12 out of their paper packs and sorting into categoriers. Counted the other day when sitting here with my sorting boxes going through everything that I have about 25 categories (pictures in different sizes, tags, sentiments, scraps, 12x12 that are a picture, 12X12 patterned with pictures that you may want to cut out, 12x12 with just patterns etc.). I have not even began thinking about the 6x6 stuff. Have felt hugely overwhelmed, but I thought to myself today that I shouldn'tt do that, I will just be happy that I have all this beautiful paper that I can do so much with. 🙂 I am retiring in five weeks. If I'm lucky I have also managed to sort them up until then, and after that I finally have time to use it.

I just went through all my 12 x 12 papers. I sorted them by solid color, double sided, and one sided. My son and daughter-in- law work in elderly care. I need to meet their activities directors to see what they need. That way I can always look at thrift stores to find some items. I have done this in the past. They are at new facilities now. *new subscriber*

Nursing homes and elder homes are in dire need of scrapbook paper. I work at a non-profit retirement home and I’m the craft instructor for their 5 locations. We embrace donations as well as any nursing homes. You’d be surprised how well received it would be if they were donated to your local nursing home.

Hi, I love beautiful paper. 3 of us live in a 2BR apartment near Chicago. Small scraps go to one seniors' group. Larger scraps and other materials go to another seniors' group with fewer resources. Ugly scraps, ribbon, and yarn go to a kids' group. I get most supplies second-hand or free. Tina,Al's wife

Thanks very much for the show and tell Lolly. I can totally relate! I teach card making to senior citizens and seem to keep accumulating all kinds of paper for their classes. I usually need a quantity (of the same paper) and if I don't have enough or have leftovers, then I have to let the surplus go. As much as I love (the idea of) washi tape for my personal projects, I don't always get around to using it, but I do have a nice stash of it anyway "just in case"😉. I am trying to be much more selective about what I purchase. I constantly remind myself about needing versus wanting! The struggle is real! 😅 Thanks for your video🌟

Hi Lolly. I too store the majority of my paper in Iris boxes. My boxes stand sideways, like a book, on an old encyclopedia book case I have. Turns out to be perfect. I know exactly what you mean about not being attracted to certain papers any more. I keep telling myself I do not need anymore paper. But the companies keep coming out with prettier and maybe more specific themes that I really like.

I sort my paper by theme or color. The themes are in 12x12 page protectors and the colors are in iris boxes. I keep cardstock and patterned papers in the same iris box based on the color that seems most prominent to me. My goal this year is to use what I have and limit spending as I have way too much stuff.

I put the scraps from paper pads and the pad itself in a 2 gallon ziplock bag. That way, I keep the collection together and can use them in future projects. Takes significantly less space than the cases. I only keep scraps that don’t belong to a collection in containers from Daiso. Much less expensive

I almost got rid of paper that I bought at Tuesday Morning years ago and my kids (who are now adults) asked me to make them some Travel Journals and some notebooks with my Cinch. With my smaller scraps my granddaughters asked for mini note books and also extra for their friends. It made my heart happy , that the paper will go to good use and put smiles on some faces. I hate to admit but, I too am a craft hoarder, I am now passing things along to those who I know that will get good use out of them. I feel like I'm in a support group today . 😂

Good luck trying to donate patterned paper and cardstock you will not use. Schools, preschools, camps, Scout troops and youth organizations, senior centers, retirement communities, long-term care facilities - NONE of them will accept paper. I know; I tried everywhere when I moved. You'd have better luck cutting what you don't want into 6x6" or 4-1/4x5-1/2 panels and selling on Etsy or Craigslist in assortments of 100 or 200. Seriously.
