materials for people who are lazy to look back at the video ~~ paper - 19cm by 9cm - 7.5 cm by 13.5 cm a ruler pencil or pen scissors tape - regular and double sided plastic sheet (6cm by 5cm) [you can try using paper or any other durable material i think] and a rubber band! hope this helped!!!

the plastic I used in the video is just from random plastic packaging I found around the house. It's pretty common but you can try looking specially in kitchen area :)

How would i make this with a box that doesnt flip open? My boxes are pull open tops and im trying to figure it out. They have to survive shipping.

Hmm...Here's an idea...You can try adding the 'confetti launcher' on the side of the box only if it's deep enough to fit, so as the person taking out the item inside the box, the confetti will launch. Hope this makes sense.
