I totally love how you are on this journey to problem-solve yourself!! ❤ absolutely love. I’m 36 and during my late teens and 20’s, I tried to find a therapist help me address my severe, catatonic Depressive episodes because I was 1000% convinced then that I could “think” my way out of mental illness and refused medications. But I was a very low-income, no-health-insurance, no-family, runaway and I just didn’t have the funds or access to find the therapist. One therapist left me after 3 weeks because she went on maternity leave. The other left me after a month because they quit their job. I left another after 1 month because she was an elderly white woman who I felt like was incorporating various biases into our time together. The failures was adding to my already debilitating abandonment issues so I gave up the search and spent my late 20’s figuring out how to heal myself and make sure that my toxicity (gained from my trauma) didn’t hurt anyone and that no one’s toxicity didn’t hurt me. It was lonely and rough. BUT I did have an intrinsic advantage: CONFIDENCE. You say it’s an Emotion, I can see it from this perspective. But if it’s an emotion, up until the last 5 years, I’ve never believed I had a reason to be/feel CONFIDENT. What’s stranger is I thought I had very little value. I didn’t expect anyone to love me, need me, remember me and I never demanded it or thought I deserved it. But during the entire course of my life, I have naturally and almost fearlessly asserted myself into unknown situations in search for whatever answers I wanted. It’s always been exceptional for me to experience social anxiety even though I don’t have much social experience because I’m a loner. These are just a few examples ofc It was almost as if my “confidence” was genetically wired into me rather than needing to consciously practice it. Which is why I find YOUR VLOG today very interesting & thought-provoking. One thing I can say for sure, through my “confidence” I searched and found my healing. I’ve also used my new found healing to help heal my partner of 15 years and the key to my healing was higher level of EMPATHY for myself and others. So listening to you vlog and all your discoveries, I am also IMMENSELY impressed & inspire at your problem-solving instincts and how your articulate them. ~ NoWa
