It will be just as good as the average designer. Because which good designer would let them use their designs to train the AI. There will be always a plateau. Good designers will thrive, bad ones will be sorted out. Same as in any other creative sector.

The Ai and slide demo points to a future where PMs are a primary user of Figma with fewer designers on the team. I suppose we can't put Ai back in the bottle and I don't mean to diminish the many other great updates showcased today.

They're already getting rid of scrum masters in favor of PMs and BAs doing their work, which honestly results in crappier scrum meetings and team morale. I imagine the same if PMs take over the design work-- crappier designs from someone that won't even know the design fundamentals.

My employeer is not in pay mode for dev mode. The developers only wanna sit in their own code editors, implementing components in React etc. I've tried numerous times to introduce developers to dev mode but my clear impression is that they wanna spend as little time as possible in Figma. It's a headache cause the markup suffers from this and the outcome is rarely consistent with the Figma frames. Anyone experiencing the same? I've had much more luck with my handovers using standalone tools such as Zeplin.

reminds me of the “dynamic island” on the newer iPhones. Yes it’s wasted space, but seeing that little bit of color show up in the gap could sometimes actually make the visible canvas area feel bigger? And I guess there’s no longer a big horizontal bar across the whole width, so this also gives some more space back. But idk

In their mind they are seeing it as a helpful tool for designers..but for employers they are going to be asking themselves "Why do we need UXUI designers anymore if we can just do this ourselves and create really good prompts."
