Hi, a smart host is the email server that receives emails , processes them and distributes the emails. In connector you can either add static IP address or FQDN of the server.

So everything checks out I got it all setup but when i Send a Test email I get this message.... "Your message will be sent, but we're not quite Ready. Check back in a couple of minutes" Any ideas as I have not gotten past this one...

Hi sir i have installed and configured exchange server as you have shown, internal emails are working fine, inbound emails from external domains are also being received but outbound mails to external domains are not being sent. I checked queues they are stuck in queue with error code 10060. all test on excra tools are clear. kindly guide how to solve this issue

I solved this issue by using smart host. it was a test lab so i got away with minimum cost. the issue was that even though my ISP allowed incoming traffic on port 25 (due to which all incoming tests came clear on excra) but the outgoing was blocked. you have to use different port such as 2525 with a smart host to get the mail flowing. hope this helps @@ghost90able

If I try to access using my external VD, only the IIS page is opening, but unable to access owa, ecp.... Also facing smtp test email issue while configuring send connector. @@Office365Concepts Thanks for the reply. This is what is confusing me. I was looking at an Exchange server this week. The send connectors were on the edge transport and the receive connectors seemed to be on both mailbox servers. Not being an Exchange export it would seem to make sense that the Internet incoming mail went to the Edge server and it sent it to the mailbox server.

If spamhause has listed ur IP address u can delist it from their website. Also make sure u have SPF published for ur domain.

if its a static IP then you need to contact your ISP to get an IP with better reputation after all they are charging you for this service
