Configure NPS for VPN in Windows Server 2022
1. Prepare
DC21 : Domain Controller Yi.vn, IP 10.0.0.21 | DC22 : File Server, IP 10.0.0.22 # Gateway 10.0.0.23
DC23 : VPN Server, IP 10.0.0.23, 10.0.2.23 | WIN111 : Client, IP 10.0.2.111, Gateway 10.0.2.23
2. Step by step : Configure NPS for VPN, WIN111 access to File Server using IT department account GIT
DC22 : Create and share a folder named DATA
DC23 : Install routing and NPS
Server Manage - Manage - Add Roles and Features - Next to Server Roles : Select "Remote Access"
Next to Role Services - Select 'Routing' - Add Features - Next to Install - Close
Tools - Routing and Remote Access - Right-click DC23 local : Configure and Enable Routing and Remote Access - Choose "Remote access dial-up or VPN"
Select VPN - Network interfaces : Outside 10.0.2.23 - From a specified range of addresses - New ... - Start IP 10.0.0.120 End IP 10.0.0.150 - Finish
Server Manager - Manage - Add Roles and Features - Next to Server Roles : Select "Network Policy and Access Services" - Add Features - Next to Install
Tools - Network Policy Server - NPS Local - Policies - Network Policies === Disable 2 policies
Right-click "Network Policies" - New - Policy name : NPS VPN Client, Type of network access server : Remote Access ServerVPN-Dial up
Specify Conditions : Add... - User Groups - Add... - Add Groups... : GIT - Specify Access Permission : Choose "Access granted"
Configure Authentication Methods : Add... : Choose "Microsoft: Secured password EAP-MSCHAP v2" - Next to Finish
WIN111 : Test VPN using HiepIT account belong GIT
Right-click icon network - Open Network & Internet settings - Ethernet - Network and Sharing Center - Setup a new connection or network - Connect to a workplace
Use my Internet connection VPN - I'll set up an Internet connection later - Internet address : 10.0.2.23 - Create
Right-click VPN Connection - Security tab - Type of VPN : Point to point Tunneling Protocol PPTP
Right-click VPN Connection - Connect - Connect - Type HiepIT account
