Hi dan, this may not belong here but, i want it to ask you something that is giving me a hard time to understand, is gigabit ethernet a serial or a paralell connection? because i have seen that ethernet is a serial connnection, but Gb transmit on the 4 pairs of wire at the same time. im sorry i know it has nothing to do with the video.

what is the use of pap authentification if the pc can already ping each other with the static route?

pap is mostly used for authentication between devices to avoid Man in the middle attack, thence its of great importance because it authenticate devices in the same network path

I'm pretty sure he is correct but it all depends on how you set up your sent-username command. If you have : R1: username R1 password cisco R2: username R2 password cisco then you have to use: R1: sent-username R2 password cisco R2: sent-username R1 password cisco But his way is correct as well.

yeah he is correct. If u put R1 password for R1 device, then only R1 can ping to itself. R1 needs to know R2 password, vice versa

Yeah it doesnt make sense. It would mean that he can only authenticate with 1 other router as the password is in (config) not (config-if) mode.
