Mark, at 16:05, you start explaining the Application Server. Where is this link pointing to? Also, if I had a user portal via 9line, how exactly would I associate this link from call manager to my 9line portal? Thanks.

Hi Jay! The application server reference is pointing at the CER system and is only for use with CER's OFP feature. You actually don't have to fill out the URL field itself as CUCM will automatically generate it based on the IP Address you enter in the fields just above the URL field. Quick note, if you're deploying the 9Line Agent and won't be using OFP, you don't need to configure this, at all. Regarding the 9Line portal, this link is not related to the portal. It is only for CUCM to know which system it should send OFP inquiries to. If this explanation didn't help, though, feel free to drop us a note at support@ and we can chat more if you'd like!

Hi, Mark. Question: In the Application Server setup in CUCM for the CER server, does the End User URL need to be externally accessible in order to get the E911 location message to pop up on remote 88XX phones? These phones come in via MRA. Excellent video, by the way.

Hi there! So, the URL does not need to be accessible externally. It is only displayed to the user if they click the "Add New" softkey when the phone is displaying the list of preconfigured addresses in OFP. When a user hits that key, the phone will tell them to goto that URL to add a new address. The Expressway-C needs to have an HTTP Allow List entry for the e911proxy service on CUCM. This service proxies communication between the phone and CER. If you take a peek at the next video in this series, there's some debugs showing what it looks like in the tomcat logs. Note! You *can* expose OFP to the Internet via a Zero Trust service like Cloudflare, so users can securely access OFP and add addresses without having to jump on VPN. I'll be doing a video on this soon!

Hello! I've just started researching the use of "off-premise location" for a handful of IP Communicator (IPC) users we still have on CUCM12.5. Do we have to install an Expressway C for e911 procy if our users/IPC only connect to CUCM after they connect to our VPN? When you add the new application server, O notice you entered an ERL. Depending on your answer on the need for an Expressway C/e991 proxy, I wonder if I can point the new application server diretly tothe IP address of my CER server. If you know of any good documentation for enabling off-premise location that you can share , please let me know. Thanks for making these videos!

Hi Andre, you're on the right track if you're looking at OFP for your IPC users. Quick note, for OFP to be available, you have to have a relationship with a 911 service provider, like 9Line. Regarding the Expressway, you do not need it if your users are connecting via VPN (since IPC doesn't work with MRA). In CER and CUCM, simply follow all the steps in the video except the Expressway steps. Because you tell CER that the IP Subnet in use for your VPN users is associated with the OFP ERL, it will know that the phone is off-premises.

Hi Mark, Do you do any turoring for basic CER Setup and configuring like you do in the video, but I could ask questions ? like maybe a WebEx session ? Please let me know if interested , that would be awesome , I have been trying to find someone to show me bacis setup of CER. Thank you,

Hey Cary, I'd be happy to discuss anything regarding CER and 911 with you. You can find me on Webex App or join our room here: eurl.io/#biUu6lgLc And if it gets to a point where it needs to be for-fee services, we have that option, too.
