Hey that’s a great video. Thank you. May I ask you to clarify something: are the seashore vs bar code signs in B mode or M mode?

Thank you for watching! Both the seashore and bar code signs are in M-mode.

Seems like if you are esophageal, there is no time to run down the hall to get the ultrasound machine to image the problem. As such is this practical? I like the concept of viewing the lungs for signs of endobronchial intubation however. Still, you are likely seeing desaturations if right mainstemmed, so acting quickly to pull the tube back might be faster than running down the hall to get the ultrasound machine. I'm trying to understand how this technique, though interesting, is clinically useful.

This techniques has been studied for detection of esophageal intubation real time, not after the fact. Real time detection of esophageal intubation is actually faster with ultrasound than with end-tidal CO2. Of course, it would have to be real time...

Do you really have enough time to do an ultrasound when you haven't intubated your patient?
