I wish Evangelical Christians as well as others who blindly follow them, could see this program. It is extremely important as to whom the message of Anti Zionism is coming from. We live at a point in time where some who claim to be people of the faith are doing exactly the opposite of what faiths stand for; such as justice, anti racism and anti exceptionalism. Thank you the panelists and Presbyterian Church for speaking out, and holding such webinars.

Noone that calls themselves a Christian can support zyonyst because Jesus was very clear about the 2nd greatest commandment: "Love thy neighbour as thyself"...

As a fellow human I really appreciate this discussion and commend you for it; as a Muslim who also believes in the Imago Dei concept, I am disheartened that no Muslim voice was invited to unite in solidarity to these sage voices. an verse in the Qur’an ‘we have made you into different tribes so that you may know one another’. One translation of ‘knowing’ is Love!

I have a little disagreement with the Rabbi, all of the Christian Zionists that I know have been taught, ad nauseam, that those nations who bless the Jews will be blessed, a misreading of the verse in Genesis 12 about Abraham. They really believe that their standing with Israel is blessing Israel. I wonder if the “Prosperity Gospel” message is an influence in this: they believe that if they support “God’s people” they will be blessed (materially?) I really do think an element of self interest is involved. Pastor Hagee teaches the Prosperity Gospel and Christian Zionism, I believe that in his teachings these two ideas are intertwined. Also Hagee uses fear to push Christian Zionism: Hagee, Should Christians Support Israel?, 169. “Is it important to be right on the Israel question?” asks Hagee. “When you consider that being wrong brings you under the curse of God and headed for eternal, everlasting fire with the devil and his angels . . . it’s important! Israel is not a ‘take it or leave it’ subject. It is a life and death matter . . . eternal life!” He uses fear tactics to push Christian Zionism and he is not alone. In a five minute vid by Jack Hibbs , a Calvary Chapel pastor, titled Can a person be anti Semitic and a Christian? he says no. These fear tactics are now being used to scare Christians into support for Israel.

More people need to see , hear and know about this. Fight against Zionism is not just for Palestinian Muslims. The birthplace of Jesus ( peace and blessings be on him) is bleeding everyday with the blood of the innocent!!!! And the followers of Jesus are complicit in this genocide . Thank you for standing up.

You should correct your comment to say “followers of Christian Zionism” are complicit. Genuine Christians do not support Israel because it was destroyed by God forever in 70AD nor should they support Jews in their rebellion against God. Presbyterians are one of the few Christian faiths in America that understand what their bibles actually say Shalom

No follower of Jesus can be complicit. Let that sink in for a moment. Jesus is truth . Do you see truth in any of these so called Christians? We are all given the ability to think.

Christian theology is rooted in fundamentalism. The " love the neighbour as thyself means all people are to be loved equally! " My Mama used to say, " the devil can quote scripture to suit his purpose! " Sound familiar????

Thank you for the explanations of each of your three theologians and the helpful discussion. The notion that all human beings are equal in front of God, as explained by the Presbyterian educator is an ideal that unfortunately neither most Christians, Jews, or Muslims believe in. If this was the case, then wars would be much more difficult to conduct.

The Presbyterian church used to teach the Israelites are the people of North West Europe. Those people come from Assyrian empire where the Israelites were held captive. Scotland was called new Jerusalem for being one of the nations most a tune to how God wanted us to live under our Presbyterian system.

It’s also interesting to me who read the Bible and think that the people in the Bible are not African people the West did not bring the Bible to Africa Christianity is a African and began in Africa as did Judaism, Islam and Christianity as well as all other forms of religions!

I was brought up a catholic and took the kids to church when they were young in an attempt to help build a set of values that would set them on a healthy path in life. I am not deeply religious but I always thought the greatest gift to humanity was the ten commandments via the Jewish faith which I respect. In particular: Thou shalt not kill Thou shalt not steal Thou shalt not bear false witness as well as Love thy neighbour as thy self I can't quote scripture extensively but wider respect of these basic rules would solve many problems in the world.

@@RossTroutat least someone knows their history. Judaism was made after Christ, it’s Talmudic law not the laws of Moses. In fact current Jews are not the Israelites, the edomites lives with the Israelites. Judas, King Herod and Pharisees were edomites. The Israelites were the European peoples as they accepted Christ

I often think of Paul a self centered self righteous religious zealot who Jesus stopped in his path. He had to fight against these thorns in his side egocentric behaviors in himself even as a Christian. A lesson for all that suffer from their own egocentric self righteousness. Seems to me Jesus chose him for these reasons also as an example against one's own self rightousness. Who & what are you really worshiping as relevant then as it is today. To many preach in a as Jesus said worldly mechanics & totally miss all the real spiritual lessons which are of more importance. Imo
